Definitely the Accord. Fantastic looking car!
A good friend of mine has an Octavia (not the RS) - I have driven it around many times - long distance too. I have found it none too comfortable. Maybe that's because I am not too young anymore.
I think it has done well thanks to the diesel advantage.

A Skoda vRS with a tiptronic auto box would have been the pick of the bunch.

The Accord (a great all rounder with scorching performance) has a very light steering feel. Doesn't seem well weighted at all.

You will find this exteremely unnerving if you drive both cars back to back.

The New Octavia has arrived ! Albiet,..in the guise of the Laura,..surely you know that !!

And Yes the vRs version (Of the new Octavia) is what we need in this thread to make the comaprison more lively (Considering the space issues with the Octavia have been sorted out) !!

Accord any day..Cant understand y skoda sells so much here..kpl may be..there used to be an advert in europe in which the punch-line was something like " The new skoda is not a skoda". This was when VW tried to change the not too exciting czech image(yeah..who said skoda is german!)..Read as "history of skoda is nothing to write home about". It was always a cheaper alternative to VW and will be the same here as well..Passat at half price and one quarter quality may be??

As far as I remember there is a thread going around the forum where in we were discussing the possibility of the Laura vRS arriving. Reference was to that. Surely you know that!

Let the new Accord come, i am sure then the results would be much different.

Also now people are much aware how much it costs to service a S(K)oda

well.. i am a bit tired of dimwitted phoren people complaining about skoda.. (i am a recent owner hehe) hellooooo.. we are here in india people!!! no car has ever succeeded here unless it provided value.. so do not dish out stuff like we are stupid to buy skodas.. if anything it is a thinking persons choice here (*ahem*).. there is a reason for this thread to be one of the most popular ones on this forum - with no clear winner.

it is not as if the hondas, toyotas, nissans are of gods of automobiles.. if anything they stick in efficiency and reliability and kill the character.. if they have their way, they would make machines do the art and literature works. haven't you heard of their robotic pets and the gadgets in the toilets! it is the kaliyuga people! the iron age!

and if i were in, say US of A or UA of E or XY of Z.. i wouldn't even look at acura, lexus, infiniti s*** let alone the 20000BHP econo sports cars that you talk about. for all you know, i may have voted for Accord.. but due to more worthwhile reasons.

Rain sensing wipers on the C Class

Irritating but welcome. It saved me from crashing ! Was driving along nicely in the evening post rain, suddenly a joker comes speeding along hits a pothole full of water alongside splashes my winscreen opaque momentarily and veers into my path as he tries to control his vehicle. The wipers come on instantly and I actually did have time to avoid him. I shall vote for them.

the octavia rs is soo good that it literally moves away the accord from the competion & the newly facelifted octy due next year will be AMAZING.

Close your eyes and think of both the words.. Accord and RS.. Now which

one has fewer alphabets and easier to spell?? Go with that.. Its that simple
