Is 100 bucks an issue really worth it?
Only a couple years ago were they selling the same one for 50 bucks an issue, weren't they?

To the mods,

if the name of zigwheels be added with the other 3 in the thread title, it will be much better. zigwheels with its 'dhamaka' will give the others a tight competition.

My first choice would be AutoCarIndia. But i think that AutoBild is catching up as well. Its quite a VFM magazine. What do u think guys?

I subscribe to ACI. If the respective fora are any indication then ACI should drift more towards cars and OD towards bikes.

After taking a liking to OD, i subscribed to them for a year. When it expired in September, i decided not to renew it. Somehow, didnt feel the pull.

Am thinking of checking out Zigwheels.

Of late this thread has become as much about Zigwheels as about ACI and OD! I bought a copy of the inaugural issue, and while I get the feeling it's more fluff than substance, at Rs 10 a pop you can't deny it's value for money. Maybe that's why it's been sold out at most places. Incidentally, if anyone in and around Andheri (Mumbai) is looking at buying a copy, do check out the Landmark bookstore in Infinity Mall. The magazine rack near the billing counter had half a dozen copies left when I bought mine last evening.

My vote goes to Autocar. Overdrive rarely double checks its data.

One of Overdrive's year 2006 issues mentioned (in the llast pages - tabular buyers guide) that a Toyota Corolla 1.4 was available at Rs. 5-point-something lacs ex-showroom delhi. I & a friend from office actually made fools of ourselves in front of the sales staff when we went and enquired on this at a Toyota dealership!

I picked up the latest issue of AutoBild and was pleasantly surprised to see how readable it was. It was very well presented and the comparison tests were good. The articles were to the point and not -- mercifully -- long and thus kept one's interest. Overdrive is definitely out of my shopping list. My preference:

1. AutoBild
2. Autocar
3. TopGear. I may stop reading this too as it tends to get a bit high flying and thus it is of no real use to me;
4. WhatCar

Got hold of Zigwheels and was utterly disappointed. It has proved that cheap is not necessarily good. It is no where near Autocar, AutoBild and Top Gear. Along with OverDrive, Zigwheels is also out of my shopping list.

I searched a lot of places in Bangalore to pick up a copy of Zigwheels, but in vain. No luck at Landmark, nor at a couple of shops on Commercial street.
