Re: Indian cars with unusual colours from the factory

Glitterati Gold on Punto Evo. Looked weird when I bought the Punto in Red but, today it looks delicious I wish I had purchased this color back in 2015.

Re: Indian cars with unusual colours from the factory

I found these 3 colors a little different apart from various Yellows and Blues in our market.

I think no unusual car colours list can be complete without a mention of this colour.

Toyota looked at detergent bars like Rin, Surf Excel etc. for the inspiration it seems because this is precisely what I was reminded of whenever I saw one in this colour on roads.

Tata Harrier launched in Calisto Copper and Thermisto Gold:

These are limited in number as well, as the colors have been discontinued and did not sell as many units.

Re: Indian cars with unusual colours from the factory

The 1st generation Swift definitely deserves a mention here, it was almost like a candy shop.

Mint, Beam Blue, Garnet Orange were quite fresh colours.

Snippet from Brochure:

A bit to disappointing to see the more conservative nature of the market now. Current gen Swift:

Re: Indian cars with unusual colours from the factory

While red is a lovely colour (even on the Indica Turbo) I simply could not understand why was the Scorpio dipped in red. It looked like an erstwhile "Laal Batti" with the car missing. The brake lights were so camouflaged in this shade.

Indian cars with unusual colours from the factory-2003_scorpio_2560131421809890844.jpg

We used to call them the "Nail Polish" Colours. Legend is that Ramkripa Ananthan, who leads M&M's Design had insisted these colours to target female customers who are critical in decision making of the car. Whether it attracted or not is unknown, but it definitely drove away male customers from the car.

Re: Indian cars with unusual colours from the factory

Interesting thread.

Two unique (quirky) colours. I liked the one on the Ignis as I used to use the same color ink (Chelpark brand) in my school days.

1. Grand i10

2. Ignis
