Sadly, almost all BS6 engines on sale from Maruti have become lackluster in terms of performance! 1L turbo might end up being the fastest Maruti on sale even if it weighs 1Ton.

Maruti's New Crossover (Baleno Cross) to have a strong Hybrid variant? To be manufactured at Toyota's Bidadi facility.

the company is currently ready to release a B-SUV car with a Suzuki design and robust hybrid technology as a CAFÉ 2 compatible item. Vehicles will be manufactured at Toyota's Bidadi facility and provided to alliance member Maruti Suzuki in order to strengthen the partnership with MSIL, the company said.

I agree with you, there is a huge gap between the Baleno and Brezza. But that's where they will position the Baleno Cross. Above the Baleno and below the Brezza. The next gen Ignis will be the Punch's rival.

This news is incorrect. There are no such variants in the offing. The Baleno is made at Gujarat plant of Suzuki and so will the Baleno Cross be made at.

re: Maruti planning new crossover based on the Baleno. EDIT: Launches "FRONX"!

When is it expected to launch? I have booked Baleno AGS and the tentative delivery time is December this year.
Assuming the cross version will have a higher ground clearance, it will be better to wait out for the cross version rather than going for baleno.

Maruti Suzuki's YTB in next set of spy pics.

a sneak peek of the interior of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross and as expected, it shares a lot with the Baleno. For instance, the floating nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, horizontally positioned AC vents, metallic door trims, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a semi-digital instrument cluster, the shape of the dashboard and centre console and so on will be carried over.

Would be an interesting package if they offer it with a 1.5 petrol!

Sorry mate, that's for exports only.
You might get the Turbo charges 1.0L engine for Indian market along with the "Good Boy" 1.2L gasoline engine found in Baleno.

You cant expect such stuff from Maruti. Even if they do it, the 1.5L engine hardly offers a bump from the 1.2L, with 12 or so extra horses and 25nm of Torque. It would not be a good reason to spend the premium that they would charge. What would really make a difference is using the 1.4L boosterjet or at least the 1.0 boosterjet since there is a bump in the torque at least.

The 1.5L petrol is the exact reason why this car is being developed! The Brezza with an expensive platform and bigger engine is way too expensive and to counter the same, they are developing as this as a cheaper alternative to the Brezza.

Hence offering this with the 1.5 in India would be completely illogical. This would be powered by the 90hp 1.2L as standard and a turbo-petrol K10C might be offered on the higher variants.

There’s not much differentiation visible apart from the revised front fascia, but it’s Maruti Suzuki they’ll still sell good numbers

Doesn't it look more like the Magnite? If it's for exports, then fine but I guess it resembles a few in the market already.

Seems that the front end is going to resemble the Grand Vitara looking at the grill and lights layout, which wont be a bad thing.
