Suggest that you watch the movie Bullit - Mustang vs Dodge charger - starring Steve Mcqueen

I'd like to start with a Zen Carbon and convert it into a mid engine car with Toyota 1.8 VVt engine. Push out the wheels for that wide track look, chop the roof........my very own version of a Renault Clio V6Sport.

IN India it has to be the lancer for me. I will take and old lancer. Put in the new evo engine that is supposed to be a direct fit. Change the spoiler. get neon lights. get the new muffler, k&n and 17" alloys and two big ass tubes in the rear. LOL

even contessa makes for a great american custom kind mod car. I was personally once thinking of going ahead. Contessa is so cheap that you can get a petrol model for around 40K.

IN the world market it has to be the Beemers. you take any and make them as hot as money can.

Skoda Octavia is my pick...both the TDi and RS are the best to modify imo. I guess coz the performance chips for it are easily available through dealers across thnx to Pete. Also its the easiest and hassel-free modification possible.

From choices in India, the Octavia RS or Mitssu Lancer.

Overall, Lancer Evos , Imprezza, Golf GTi, Fabia vRS, Civic Coupe ......they are all good

If you are willing to import it, then the ROver V8 is a direct fit. Was used by the British Police in this form for many years.

Indian engines - you need to pick a longitudinal mounting engine.

Contessa 1.8
TATA Safari Petrol
Scorpio REV 115
Innova Petrol 1TRFE

Indian - Lancer followed by the Type 1 OHC 1.5 (I just love dreaming of modifying the Lancer. Damn i need to earn money)
International - Civic, Second-hand BMW 3 Series, 2nd Hand EVO 6 (I love modded Mitsus.

What i would put? (My vision for our lancer or a RED EVO 6)
Body - Lambo doors, skirts, red neons, Spoiler, 19 inch Kahn Alloys. I like the Veilside DTM kit. Looks really sexy
Engine will get all the usual bells and whistles. Will go mad jotting it down. Simply put, a modded EVO6 engine
Chassis/suspension again from the Evo6.

I would want to buy a RS to modify it like how Petes done to his car! 230BHP wooow. It will be on par with 911 or atleast on its tail but surely will whip the Audi TT!

Sounds good. Shouldnt be hard to find a cheap Rover V8 engine in the UK - might even find a highly modified one if I scavenge around a bit.

Just wondering - wouldnt either of the Rover Montego engines sold in India (Petrol and Diesel) fit in there as well? If yes, thats another option...

It was a 2 litre turbocharged direct injection diesel (much ahead of its time in India) developing something like 89 bhp. I'm not sure if the engine was transverse or longitudinally mounted...
