Next-gen Hyundai Verna to be the only diesel car in its segment.

Hyundai is the only manufacturer of a midsize sedan to rework its diesel engine to meet the stringent Real Driving Emission norms in 2023.

The 1.6D is not going to return, right? Not on this segment anymore. I am lucky to have one of the last ones of the lot and have it tuned.

On the design aspect, I think the new iteration is going to get influenced by the looks of the new Creta and the likes. I don't have high hopes.

Saw one of the test mules on my way back from office last evening. The car had and LED screen for the instrument console. The coupe-ish roofline was ok, but the jacked-up stance like the Slavia-Virtus was not very pleasing to look at. Might have been because of the sloping roofline, but the car looks really long.

It's the same face-lifted Verna being sold, which Hyundai calls Next Gen Verna

New Verna to get connected tail lamps as already seen on the Venue and Tucson.

Expected to launch by April 2023.

From what I heard from someone working at Hyundai, Next-gen Verna will be a petrol-only model with 2 engine options, Naturally, Aspirated & New - Turbo Petrol of higher capacity, both mated to Manual & Automatic Transmission Options.

Also, it is believed to be the longest segment.

The headlights lower down on the bumper design language doesn't look good at all.
Of late all Hyundai vehicles have this family look theme with headlights so low down.

Same headlight design theme is also in Tata-Harrier and Punch, very awkward looking headlight styling.
The headlights ought to be placed in their traditional position.

Next-gen Hyundai Verna interior spied; gets dual-screen setup

The next-generation Hyundai Verna has been spotted testing once again. However, the latest spy images give us a peek into the car’s interior.



The spy images reveal a dual-screen setup with a rectangular touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a digital instrument cluster. The car is expected to get a low and wide grille with sharp LED headlamps on either side and a coupe-like roofline similar to the outgoing model.

According to media reports, the Verna is expected to get new engine options, including a 1.5-lire petrol and diesel mild-hybrid engines, with features like brake energy regeneration and idle start/stop.



Speaking of features, spy images have also revealed that higher variants of the next-gen Verna could get Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

It's an all new vehicle. All new platform. The car is huge, the honda city would look like a car below it's segment.

The face of the car is maybe a hit or a miss, but the rear is a hit for sure. The stance is great. The engine options will stun everyone, specially VW.

Watch out for this car, specially Honda. The space in the boot can accommodate the jazz. (Just kidding, I only mean it's very large)

What options do Hyundai have? the current one is 4cyl with 113 Hp, 145 Nm. They can plonk the one on creta turbo in the verna - but I dint like the DCT on it.

Will hyundai try and delight the enthusiasts with a True N version with a manual? Maybe use the engine with 200bhp and a manual on the overseas i20N?

For all we know it will be just a facelift with even better FE and features.
