Re: Scoop! A 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha 4x4?

A part of me wouldn't mind this, the 13 seat version makes the Gurkha viable as nomad camper vehicle. Remove all seats (except driver and passenger seat) and you have a whole lot of space to work with one a car that will go over all kinds of terrain with ease.

My only problem is the 90hp engine, while it's adequate on the 3 door, I would've liked to see the 2.2L 140hp engine return from the old Gurkha.

To me the Gurkha is a superior vehicle to the Thar, the only thing that would hold me back from buying the Gurkha over the Thar is the lack of power. I sincerely hope Force Motors figure out a way to either make the 2.2L meet BS6 standards or find a replacement for the ancient 2.6L OM616 Mercedes Diesel. I know the OM616 is Force Motor's bread and butter engine but the 2.0L Fiat Multijet II engine from the Harrier is a more sedate state of tune (say 145hp) would do wonders for the Gurkha.

Re: Scoop! A 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha 4x4?

Seriously Force Motors! If this is true, why the heck in this world would you ruin your product's uniqueness to another level of dumb by making it a 13-seater!. Force Gurkha is already kept by people as a cheap G-Wagon and now this!!! C'mon atleast let the new product get a proper name for itself. A five-seater seems practical enough, but why 13-seats!? People are not going to use it as a Force Traveller, and the Trax could be re-introduced in its old form. The Gurkha's name was ruined last time cause of the same reason, Force, don't do it again

While I do Applaud the fact that this might be the only option in the market for people looking for a rugged 4x4 with a seating capacity of more than 10 people, I would've appreciated if they went the extra mile and made forward facing seats with 3 point seat belts standard even if it means compromising the sheer people moving ability that the Trax is so well known for.

A 13 seater Gurkha! Somebody serious about overlanding or regular camping will be amused at this. Anybody looking for an off road capable 12 seater, although a rare combination, will be best suited for jungle safaris, view point destination tours etc, albeit Gurkha's price is not affordable for the rural mssses of India.

Wow! a combination of Force Gurkha and Force Traveller, who would have thought Force would combine their two major offerings and make something like a 13-seater Gurkha people mover!

Re: Scoop! A 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha 4x4?

13 seater version can only be commercial, and not for private registration. This could be a 11 seater, but again if we look at the current versions of the Cruiser, the 9 seaters are available for private registration while the 13 seaters are available only in commercial category.

Makes perfect sense if the vehicle is for commercial use only, by the way who has 13 people in their family nowadays and want private registration. Most families are nuclear nowadays as well.

I really hope they launch this one with 5-6 seats version, engine in higher tune, ESC and other safety features. This could be a amazing vehicle for overland setup.

For private buyers, make it a 7 seater + 500 litres boot space and you have a low cost competitor to Kia Carnival.

Re: Scoop! A 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha 4x4?

Guys chill, I think Force is trying to pull something similar to Landrover Defender. Offering multiple bodystyle to suit its customer, I think we should applaud Force for trying to compete against the Defender

Its truly a global strategy

Re: Scoop! A 13-seater version of the Force Gurkha 4x4?

Plonk a powerful engine with AT, revamp the interiors, make second row even more comfortable and sell it for 30L.

I love the idea. Makes me miss the hummer days.

From the look of the dimensions, they can easily fit in 4 rows of 2 captain's seats each with 3-point seat belts, making it an 8-seater.

Fold down the 2/3/4 rows of seats and plonk in a mattress above them for a comfortable night's sleep.

Wishful thinking?

Running the number plate on mParivahan app, shows that it is owned by Force Motors Ltd., and is registered 1 month ago.

Before running the plate online, I was thinking if someone bought the Toofan or Cruiser and changed it's color, rims etc. for the new Gurkha lookalike, but this being registered to Force Motors, refutes that thought!

But, what if it is just a one of product registered by Force Motors for use within their factory, like Tata Motors had Convertible kind of Nano in their factory premises?
What do the details say about the make/model? ARAI approval is required for the registration. The ARAI approval gives all details including make/model, engine specs, seating capacity etc.

This vehicle must be a nine seater or less than that, as it is registered as a private vehicle. Force motors has such a option with the Trax Cruiser.

Most likely they have raided the external parts bin from the gurkha and done up this cruiser/trax for the fun of it or for promo / transport use.
