+ A simple and elegant front-end styling, akin to the Scorpio-N and Bolero Neo, departing from the typical extravagant Mahindra design, would enhance the overall appeal IMO.

I really hope they don't go the Tata way with all those non-sense LED bars. The current 300 has a very handsome appearance, just need to modernize it a bit and most importantly, increase the boot space. It my favorite C-SUV by a good margin.

Re: New Mahindra Compact SUV spotted | XUV300 Facelift?

The rear of the current XUV300 was appealing while the front looked dated to me. I hope the facelift doesn’t lower this appeal. Waiting to hear about the updates to the interior!

Re: New Mahindra Compact SUV spotted | XUV300 Facelift?

Thankfully, it looks to have a clean design and does not appear to be over styled. Going by the bump on the boot it looks like it’ll follow the trend of connected taillights.

The exterior of the of the current XUV300 still looks alright to me but the interiors reminds of the year 2013.

XUV 300 EV in 2024. The XUV300 facelift with petrol and diesel engines will launch before the XUV300 EV, most likely by February 2024.

The XUV 300 will sport diversified engines – petrol, diesel, and an EV.

The XUV300 EV will be positioned in the price range of Rs 16-17 lakh (ex-showroom), which means it will have a gap of around Rs 2 lakh between the XUV400

So why the whole XUV400 launch? Does the sub 4m rule apply to EVs too?

If they want to launch an XUV300 EV too, then why not launch an XUV400 with ICE engines? But then it would confuse their future XUV500 launch?

An XUV400 owner will get better motor/battery and bigger bootspace, but everything else will be as same as an XUV300? Still would be better VFM than Nexon Long Range premium over Medium range.

Re: New Mahindra Compact SUV spotted | XUV300 Facelift?

It seems Mahindra has decided to keep 300 as the medium range and 400 as the long range offering. The later might get more kit as well.

Re: New Mahindra Compact SUV spotted | XUV300 Facelift?

Mahindra XUV300 facelift nears launched, gets the XUV700's and will most likely flaunt a split headlamp setup with extended C-shaped DRLs.

Will likely look to be the odd-one out in terms of exterior design, in the compact SUV space.

Mahindra XUV300 facelift to go on sale by February 2024.

XUV300 facelift will be squarely aimed at the updated Kia Sonet and Tata Nexon.

Mahindra XUV300 facelift will get a major styling overhaul, especially to its front and rear. Styling cues are inspired heavily by Mahindra’s BE line-up of SUVs that will go on sale in 2025.

These tweaks include a more angular nose along with a completely redesigned drop-down LED daytime running lamp. This also hints at a revised bumper and headlamp assembly, and will be a new two-part grille with a larger central air intake as well.

At the back, it will get a completely redesigned tailgate that’ll likely feature a full-width LED light bar. The surfacing of the tailgate is smoother, the tail-lamps appear sleeker and C-shaped, and the registration plate is now housed on the bumper instead of on the tailgate. It will also have a new set of alloy wheels, although we do not expect any major changes in profile.
New 6-speed TC gearbox for 1.2 TGDI engine

Quote:
The XUV300 facelift will come with an Aisin-sourced 6-speed automatic (torque converter) with the most powerful 131hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol (TGDI) engine. It is the same unit that does duty in the Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus with their 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engines. The other two engines will continue using the 6-speed manual and automated manual transmission options.

The current crop of engines – a 1.5-litre diesel, 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.2-litre direct injection turbo petrol (TGDI) – that received emissions-related upgrades for BS6 Stage II norms will continue as is.
XUV300 facelift will see feature additions like a segment-first panoramic sunroof and a larger 10.25-inch infotainment screen. There will not be ADAS or a 360-degree camera on offer.

To confuse the scenario more, Mahindra XUV300 EV incoming too. Considering the size of this EV (derived from XUV300) it is not likely to create any problems to the Nexon EV sales.

The XUV300 facelift will also get an EV iteration that will sit below the XUV400 EV. Just like the standard facelifted model that will rival the Nexon, the electric version of the XUV300 will be aimed as a more competitive alternative to the new Nexon EV, and will go on sale by June 2024.

1. The rear centre headrest makes a come back!
2. Presence of EPB means there maybe a variant with ADAS?
3. Is it camera distortion or is the boot looking a lot bigger?
4. The rear seatbelt is buckled in. Hope it doesn't mean they are not putting the rear load sensors a la Maruti.
5. That big plastic slab in the dashboard. Please, Mahindra. Don't make every damn button a touch one. Though I do remember seeing knobs and buttons in one of the test mules.
6. Somehow the dashboard console reminds me of the present Tucson dash. A plastic slab.

Hopefully, it is just a camouflage method and in a subsequent photo, the design of the center dashboard on the sides of this slab indicates that they wont be adding a flat slab to this car in the facelift.

Re: New Mahindra Compact SUV spotted | XUV300 Facelift?

1. The boot definitely looks bigger. That was a major bummer of the current generation car.
2. Not a fan of this beige upholstery considering Indian dust and humidity.
3. Don't see ventilated seats being provided which is a must.
4. Hope HVAC gets physical knobs. Don't see them.
5. No paddle shifters.

1) All beige interiors are a strict no for me.
2) Absence of parcel tray, and the distance between rear headrest and the windshield does not look any different than the one in official review of XUV 300, both these point to an unchanged boot space. Official numbers should clear this up, however, Mahindra should share the boot space with the parcel tray in use, like other manufacturers.
3) EPB with auto hold in a manual is a good move.
4) Looks like top variants will get an all digital panel for HVAC and other controls. Another strict NO for me!
5) Unlike the previous rumors, XUV300 doesn't seem to get a Pano Sunroof. This looks to be a top variant with EPB and Auto Hold along with the large touch screen, so I think we can rule out the Pano sunroof. AX5 of XUV700 sells largely due to Pano sunroof. A fully loaded XUV300 top variant with Pano Sunroof could have killed the XUV700's most selling variant.
6) Is that additional speaker beside the driver sunshade?

The car clicked is a manual variant.

Re: New Mahindra Compact SUV spotted | XUV300 Facelift?

Why are folks criticizing the beige interiors? I know it can be a little tough to keep clean but let's not forget that this is the most spacious (physically and feeling-wise) car in its segment. The major complaint with the existing model, the boot space, seems to be fixed as well. If Mahindra can price it smartly and do better feature distribution among the mid variants, it's going to be a great car for the money.
