Me too . It looks very sporty, especially the white one with black tints.

A test care will always look basic. so I am not worried about that.

Also, I was wondering if they chopped Punto's lenght to come within 4000mm as originally is 4030mm. this way they will be able to price it much better.

Hey Gpunto looks best in 3 door Abarth style. But we will get only 5 doors in India. Its kinda compromise. It will be like Innova

If its 1.3 mjd for sure, then it will be priced a little bit higher than the Vista.

Bring it sooon Fiat. I have been waiting for this for a long long time.

If Marutil Splash comes up, then it would be a fight. Already the U-VA comes with a good pricing. So it adds up to the competition.

wish to see 15inch wheel. That will make the difference from the other crowd.

Finally we ge to see the Punto in the flesh...atleast on Indian roads. However, FIAT has been treating the Linea/Punto fans like a yo-yo. I am getting quite irritated salivating for the two

I just hope FIAT gets its act together and launch both these vehicles ASAP!
The 4030mm length will be reduced to get the benifit of the taxation. Also the 1.3MJD (already proven) will be the initial choice. (realiable and inexpensive). They need to target the masses and reel in the Maruti/Hyundai customers who are looking for good mileage and a less expensive car.
I don't think the 15 inchers will be provided intially. They might offer a customized package if the sales look good.
However, all of the above is speculative.
Lets keep our fingers crosses and hope for the best.

I absolutely second that, but i guess in blue it would look brilliant. I love the way the headlights are cased. Lovely lines.

It was a heart breaker in 2005 when it was launched and still has the capability to turn heads in 2009. But, I think the Hyundai i20 will take the cake now as far as looks and appeal are concerned. That car is a stunner from all angles, especially that very aggressive front end.

These are two shots of the Punto 3 door taken by me last year in Switzerland. I was relatively unimpressed by the way the low spec Punto looked in real. It looked way better in pictures. Have a look at the wheel caps, you might see these on the Indian Punto.

looks like copy of uva not a head turner for sure.

looks to me similar like Linea or maybe I am wrong

Fiat needs to go back to design room and make cool designs like the i series from Hyundai.

I have a friend working in FIAT plant at Ranjangaon. According to him, the Punto we are seeing, is a unit directly brought in. It is not built in Ranjangaon plant.

They are still in the design phase for Punto.

Considiering Linea is launched somewhere in Jan, Punto somewhere in mid 2009 (and that is too aggresive) and Palios still running out of the production line I will be very confused with the pricing.

Linea - Multijet: 7-9 Lacs
Punto - Multijet: Around 6
Palio - Multijet: 5 Lacs

Would some one buy Punto if the mind blowing Linea is available for 1-2
lacs more?

Would some one buy ageing (but awesome) Palio if Punto is available for 1 lac more?

Either they should scrap Palio and reduce the price of Punto OR Reduce price of Palio if they want to sell all the three cars at same time!

Any thoughts?

@Ferro
(1)Looks are subjective
(2)IMHO, i10 looks horrible.
(3)Again, IMHO, GP is one of the best looking hatches in the world.
