Best Air Conditioning Segment wise

You got to try your AC in chennai heat to really test its cooling skills.
My M-1000 used to feel very cold in bangalore.

I found the 118NE & the Bolero to have some terrific cooling towers in them. The burning heat inside the car would dissipate within seconds.

Nissan Xtrail AC froze my fingers while holding the steering.
It is located right behind the steering. So many AC vents already!

It is very effective - even the 4cyl version!

I don't know if the SX4 A/C can be called the best in class. But I can say that the A/C of SX4 is one of the most effective ones around if not the most effective. The climate control works like magic. The auto mode in blower setting is too good. The defogger works automatically, when blower position is set to Auto mode, in rainy conditions whenever there is fog in the windshield. Its been raining heavily here for the last 2-3 days and I never found an issue with the defogger. In fact I couldn't make out when the blower moves to defogging mode. I am planning trip to TN this month end. WIll be able to tell the effectiveness of A/C in hot conditions then.

I think you bangy boys should not even comment on this aspect as your ACs are totally underworked. Drive in chennai & then give us your report.

Spot on. But Delhi is much hotter than Chennai.
In terms of Humidity Chennai is unbeatable.

How is freedabad ?

Yeah, humidity in chennai can sap you more than the heat. But seaside is pretty good with the steady breeze.

Faridabad is almost same as Delhi.
Chennai is cool at night being a coastal place.

What about A/C of Zen estilo?? Heard when they launched, it has the best A/C in its class with subcondensors or subcooling system, or something like that.

While its controversial to pin point which hatch or sedan has the best a/c, there is a clear cut winner when it comes to the worst air conditioning system- the Getz 1.1 Prime IMO. Thats the worst I've come across in recent times. The 1.1 Epsilon engine is just about adequate for the car, but its horrible at cooling the cabin. Even the 1.3 is no great shakes.

Swift, Palio 1.6 and Alto (in that order) are good in the hatch segment.

John I have had the feel of the heat in Chennai, Mahabs and Pondy. The Baleno's AC did the magic.

Only other cars I have driven around in chennai were the lancer and accent.
Baleno took the cake always.

To be correct, Maruti does not say that. MUL only quoted (in erstwhile Baleno ads) the report by some auto-mag which judged the Baleno's a/c to be better than the S-class's.
