Not sure man, the AC effect at the rear is really not that great. It is my experience, may be I don't know the right way to cool the rear fast.

Agree with you, John. I have not said mine is the best, just that it serves me well.

I know how hot and humid Chennai can get, after all i spent 4 years close to Chennai for my engg degree.

It can't get better than that.It had a large interior to cool and only the blowers on the dash unlike the new SUV's/car which have one for middle row. Having owned one for 3 yrs i find my current scorpio no match for it

The fiesta AC is better than the honda city,Leaving the initial batch problem aside the SX4 AC too is a chiller but then this is not the weather to test AC,its the summer when I can say if the sx4 AC is good. The new chevrolet aveo AC too is untested so we will have to wait and watch regarding these two cars.

Mahindra Bolero's definitely has a very powerful A/C. It has to be the best in india by far. It chills almost instantly in 3 seconds. The compressor is quite powerful along with a large condensor on the front.

The best way to guage the performance of the AC is to be stuck in traffic on a mid summer afternoon for 1 full hour without stopping the engine.

Of all the ones we have here... i feel Daewoo Cielo was the best. Double compressor means double impact.

a two year old thread, i recently moved to Chennai and I can tell you that the esteem carb is just not suitable for the humid chennai climate. with AC on I keep on sweating inside the car, i fixed a new compressor, cleaned the system, blower .... still i find it inadequate in peak traffic. it has been only 2 days and my daily drive is turning out to be a nightmare. Without the AC off and windows rolled on, by the time I reach office my dress becomes totally wet

I won't be moving to Bangalore anytime soon, so for my daily drive to office i am thinking of getting a new car with a good AC. Other option would be improving the cooling of my existing car which I guess has its limitations.

I have a budget of 3.5-4.5 lakhs, I have the palio1.6 & baleno in mind. I would highly appreciate your inputs on this...

Is the palio 1.6 still available for a buy in FIAT showrooms. How is the alto AC? I am not worried about the pickup with AC on,

We can do a comparison by commenting on cars which we own/drive. My contribution:

Palio 1.6 is way better than NHC (I own both).

None of the people who have sat in the car can tolerate it being continuously on even in 40 degrees heat - when the car is moving, of course
