To be fair to M&M, it would be a bit too much to expect. Any niggle free product from day1 is wishful thinking

Even japanese OEMs the likes of Honda and Toyota perfect their offerings increase their reliability over multiple generations.

In the case of Roxx, being derived from ScorpioN platform along with the learnings from the Thar ver 2.0, it should have a headstart on the reliability aspect and can be expected to be less niggle free for a new offering.
However once its out in the real world and subject to all kinds of different situations by customers, niggles and recalls are expected and this will stabilize in 2 years typically.

Interesting. Even with the risk of the impending ban on diesel vehicles, people still prefer that over petrol? Personally, I love diesel vehicles, but it is sad that they may not exist in 5 years or so! Also, what gearbox does Mahindra use in their diesel automatic?

Honestly, i dont see any diesel ban coming in anytime....

Mahindra uses AISIN gearbox. AISIN make one of the best gearboxes and i believe is owned by Toyota. So a lot of top brands use this gearbox.

Mahindra uses the Aisin torque convertor gearbox in their SUVs. The Thar has the same and event he 5 door should come with that as well.

If XUV700 doesn't pose as a challenge to Fortuner, there is hardly a chance of a cheaper option to do so. Roxx will be sub 4.5m, not in the big leagues.

And the front grill too looks bad in light colors.

For a vehicle that you need to climb into, the lower part of the rear door looks really narrow. It may make for a somewhat clumsy climb into the rear seat

Also, the position of the rear seat, right on top of the axle, will likely lead to a bumpy ride in the 5-door variant too!



Anyone eagerly waiting for the 15th, to see if they announce feature updates to the now 4 year old 3-door Thar?

The headlamps, off roading kit and engines would be a welcome addition to the 3-door version! Maybe the grill too

I think that step above the door will slowly grow on you and won't look as bad in person. Though I do see a lot of people painting it black

At least they showed a light colored Roxx which shows the triangle window well (we would have known anyway in 3 days, but you know).

I am confused about the petrol/diesel debate. Have a 2018 Petrol Automatic Ecosport and am used to single digit FE. Was thinking of diesel this time but going through the 3 Door Forum, it seems in many cases, even the diesel is less economical than petrol! Go figure.
