no longer a differentiator for me

I have been using Shell normal petrol (50.56/-) close to 2 years now and I have been getting consistent and wonderful economy with that. Today 29th dec, at Malya road shell, I was told that normal petrol is no longer available and was billed for SUPER UNLEADED at unit price Rs.54.25/- I didn't feel justified to fill in (I filled a tank full however).

So my tank full cost just shot up by Rs.95.94/- (26ltr for tank full) thats a good 2 litres. Am speculative if the returns will be good and like shell If I will be able to maintain my expenses at the same level. So decided that I will give it 2 tank fulls and if the returns are not better or justified the 4 rupees hike I will drop out of shell. Because I can recover the cost by using additional 1ltr of regular PSU normal petrol from a decent pump.

Am I being penny wise pound foolish ... time will tell.

For me every tankful will be expensive by 130 bucks. Thats like 2.5 ltrs of normal fuel.

For me to workout the economies, the Super should be atleast 1/2 a km efficient on every liter.

I'm pretty sure what ever additives they add in super will achieve that.
Am willing to go with one tank-full for the trial.

cheers

Are they saying that they won't supply normal petrol any more?
