Remind me to laugh if thats a joke. Actually, I saw the report/pics in the 1st post and replied without realizing it'll land up in front of Vidyut Aunty's post.

Two engines initially.

1.3 litre Multijet Diesel engine which Tata will call the Quadrajet
1.2 litre petrol engine with variable Valve timing

Don't you think Center console can alter driver attention?? It not even tilted towards driver.. Dont you think it is a kind of bad ergonomics?

Are the turn indicators placed just below the ORVM?

The panel gaps still seem wide and uneven. And this on a car that was displayed at the auto show!

Maybe it's still early days and tata will sort out these little issues once the car is put into production but still a car on display at the auto show should have been well finished.

I saw a full page ad for Indica DICOR. Is this same as the "new Indica" we are discussing? (did not get more time to ogle at the ad).

From the pictures posted, there is no change to the rear compared to the current Indica
IMO, rear of the Nano too looks like the indica.

Should confess that comments this leave me totally confused. If you (and others who say this) are meaning the gaps between the various parts on the exterior, I see no difference between the Indica and Maruti products (all cars).

If you were referring to the interiors, I still feel the same - there is really not much difference.

What am I missing? Can you or somebody please put up an image with some markings? (or describe where the unevenness is there in the existing images?).

The shutlines on the doors. Although there is a component of "where-the-picture-is-taken-from" to it. But then, who cares about shutlines anyway.

Overall, a much better proportioned car! Some mods, and can look a stunner. The rear IS different, and theres a distinct waistline going all around. The interiors look much better too - great effort.

I wouldnt worry tooooo much about the shutlines - yes they ARE more than is the norm - in this great VFM package. My dad'd old Indica is still doing fine despite years of rains and stuff, and no leakages yet.

New Indica

This looks awesome! The rear looks good and the blinker near the ORVM is also something that no other car has. The interior looks good but could hae been done better.

Hats off to TATA once again!!

Palio stile might have got a cosmetic makeover but under the skin its a outdated car compared to the new gen indica,so pricing the palio diesel at par with indica will not help palio sales at all.

The design of headlight is not good. it lacks look and if it gets damaged then more money compared to now.
I don't think so it needs a big headlight assembly. it matters in looks also.

The tail lights goes all the way from top of the back door (hatch door) to the end of the bumper. I guess this is different from the existing model right?

This is similar o Indigo Marina. Indigo Marina has similar tail lamp design. TATA knows how to reuse its design for better.
