Good Morning All

I am trying to find out some information about the Sipani Montego and hope someone can help.

I am a member of the Maestro & Montego Owners Club in the UK, and we will be exhibiting at the Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show (the biggest each year in the UK) next month at Birmingham NEC.

This year is the 35th anniversary of the launch of the Austin/MG Montego, and I am creating some posters for us to use on our club stand.
I know that Sipani built Montegos in India during mid 1990s (?), and wondered if anyone had any newspaper/magazine adverts for the car, and even maybe one of the Sipani brochures? If so would you be prepared to scan and e-mail these through to me, so we can include the Sipani chapter in the Montego's history, in our club displays at the NEC show?

Hello Andrew, thanks for writing in.

As you would imagine, all Sipani products met with very limited success in India, largely due to product configuration, performance and reliability concerns. The survivor rate is minuscule, and I am glad that some interest is renewed in the brand. I do have a Montego brochure somewhere, but to be honest I have no idea where I have kept it! Will hunt for it for sure.

Wishful thinking:
When I see cars like these I feel there should be a Team-bhp fund to restore/maintain/takeover these cars and subsequently have a community car collection.
