@6.7L ex-showroom, I'll say it is on the higher side. And a huge 80k difference between the Petrol & Diesel versions on the Z** models.

But with a slim 35k difference between the hatch (Swift) & sedan (DZire), can we expect a price cut for the Swift itself ? If that happens, it would be a killer.

Not so fast. It could even end up as a Swift with a boot. The rear's nice - but got to see how well the whole styling goes down with the public.

Rear leg room and boot space were my main concerns with Swift. While, I was dying to find out if the wheelbase has been increased on the Dzire, I stumbled upon this article from ACI -

I think Maruti has got the pricing right, but it will still be a tough fight between the Dzire, Logan and Indigo.

Just cheked the Dzire website. I had noticed that the Automatic Climate Control from Swift Dzire is different from the one in SX4. SX4 has the 3 different dials with out any digital display. But, the one in Swift Dzire has only 2 dials with a digital display.
Does this mean that the one in SX4 will be updated / changed accordingly to resemble the one present in Dzire, since both Swift Dzire and SX4 share lot of parts in common..

Excellent move by Maruti on the pricing front. However, one thing that disappointed me was the absence of a front arm rest even in top end variant. Or, maybe this is all that one gets for the price he pays.

Great pricing by Maruti. Logan is going to have a really tough competition so is Indigo.
The downside about the car is , its going to be too common. Every tom dick and harry is going to buy one .

Just looked up the prices for Chennai on the site. Ex-showroom for ZXI is 5.61 which may bring OTR closer to 6L. That's indeed good news IMO now

Visited the local dealership here today in connection with a friend's new car delivery, and got to understand that the dealers are really excited about the DZIRE!
