My guess is that the price for base LXi should be somewhere between the price quoted by the two news articles. Maruti know their game too well and definitely would price the LXi atleast around 3.5.

The maruti A-star all set to hit the roads next week has returned a mileage of 19.59 km per litre. It's powered by a 1.0L,3-cylinder 12 valve unit developing a maximum power output of 48kw that means it should be 65 bhp.

Wow, thats a great news. The mileage is awesome considering this is a 1.0L engine. And with the innovative shape and design, the car should be a sure hit.

Lets hope the price is correctly decided.

Hope the Zxi version has ABS and airbags as standard. But these prices (if true) leave no room for the Splash between the A Star and the Swift.

I came across a website with more details of the soon to be launched A-Star.

If the news is to be true the A-Star would be avb in :
A-Star Vxi
A-Star Zxi
A-Star Lxi
A-Star Zxi ABS

And the base model price would be 3.10 L.

lets hope this to be true. Please See the attachment also:

A star between existing alto and WagonR/estilo, Splash between WagonR and Swift. Moreover splash will have diesel heart.

It says, tyre size as 205/45 R17. That is definitely incorrect. And sheet has the car very vivid while the details are just redable scan and border text as blurred. It sure looks fake.

A Star is being launched overseas as Alto and I would hate to see it priced high above Alto in India. 3.10L is very very close to Alto (on road price for Alto in Pune 3.22L OTR Pune, Kothari Auto). However, knowing Suzuki, it looks like 3.5L as the starting price (ex showroom) which to me would be cheating Indian Junta.

I am looking forward to November 19 as I am seriously considering A-star car for my wife, albeit, priced properly.

takecare and drive safely

Anyway, that site has never been a reliable one. They would always put wrong dimensions, engine specs, etc.
