Fuel is one of the major outgoes from a common man's wallet in his everyday affair. For all the benefits of the GST the government wants to tom tom around, they want to keep this out of GST's purview!

So, all the benefits of GST are to the government to spend on the welfare schemes for the politicians & babus. For the one item where the common man may get a benefit of GST, they want to withhold it.

Talk about having cakes & wanting to eat them....

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Just today morning I tanked up diesel in my Indica in Pune, @ 61.18. Last tankfull was @ 67.39 just 2 weeks back. That is a whopping reduction of Rs 6.21 per litre. Savings of Rs 210 on a tankfull. "Acche din aye hai" in the real sense now.

I believe it is the high taxation states which are baulking (naturally). I expect now MH may fall in line. KA and co I doubt it.

Yeah, this variable state taxation on fuel needs to be addressed - probably will need the same party in power at Centre and high taxing states like karnataka.
Other aspect is to rationalize taxes wrt petrol vs diesel.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Jet fuel or ATF prices have also been revised yesterday. The current price is 62.538 Rs per liter. In January it was at 76.241 Rs which means a drop of 17.97% from January levels. During the same period the Petrol Prices are down from 71.52 Rs in January 2014 to 64.24 rs on November 1st, this is a drop of 10.17% only. All the rpices mentioned are of Delhi itself. Can someone tell how can ATF prices drop by 18% while petrol prices got cut by only 10% ?

Remember ATF is just Kerosene, under a different (and fancy) name. Only the QC is different. Importd are allowed so there is some control, also Reliance is also in the business. So this is the true price of Kerosene!

In Bangalore (KA) due to higher taxes, the actual cut on petrol price is more. At the same time whenever there is a hike in petrol price, the actual hike will be more here. I guess good times are smiling on us.

So u really think now Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh will have fuel tax structure like Goa? What stopped this same party & leader in Gujarat from implementing what Goa did in his state?

Sir, you meant 82.7 I guess.

Saudis seems to be playing well to retain their market amidst competition!
