Yes, petrol price in TN is about 2.5 Rs more than KA. Rewind to 2016 where the price difference between TN and KA was more than 6 Rs. This was based on my personal experience while filling in Kovai. TN was cheaper by Rs 6.26 to be precise

Meanwhile, in the world of fuel pricing, the French government seems to have taken some steps -

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Today morning when I tanked up my car, I was pleasantly surprised to see the diesel price of Rs 66.56/lit. Just 20 days back when I had tanked up my car, I had to pay a price of Rs 73.08, and two months back it was at its peak of 77.64. So there is a massive drop in price of diesel to the tune of Rs 11.08 over the last two months & Rs 6.52 in the course of last 20 days.

Will this trend continue till the run up to the general elections or there are other major macro economic reasons for this massive drop in fuel prices?

Looks like the days of fuel cuts will end soon. Election results today. Opec to cut production.
When will we have feasible and practical EVs.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Oooo..I was waiting for this. After constants cuts in fuel prices to reflect the falling brent, petrol prices hiked by 9 paise today.

Brent crude, after constantly falling since October 4, showed first upward tick on November 26, so it has taken exactly 15 days for brent correction to be reflected in retails prices in case of upward revision (if you take into account that 11th was election results day and yesterday there was no movement in price)! How clock-work precise.

Well, brent also came down for four consecutive days after this one day of increase, but I doubt we will see that.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Heard the prices have gone up. But to tell you, the fuel prices are on a downward trend here in the EU. It was 1.49 yesterday and today, I see that petrol is 1.44 to a liter!

Much sought relief.

With Brent crude oil futures sliding below $55 per barrel and rupee trading below 70 against the US dollar... The price of petrol is now tracking January levels while diesel is close to April rates. A litre of petrol today costs Rs 70.46 in Delhi, Rs 76.08 in Mumbai, Rs 71.03 in Bengaluru, Rs 73.11 in Chennai and Rs 72.55 in Kolkata.

Diesel, on the other hand, costs Rs 64.39 a litre in Delhi, Rs 67.39 in Mumbai, Rs 64.74 in Bengaluru, Rs 67.98 in Chennai and Rs 66.15 in Kolkata. If the last 2 months are taken into account, petrol is down by Rs 12 and diesel by about Rs 11 in Delhi. Although volatile in the last few days, the crude oil market has shown a declining trend in the last three months during which prices have fallen by as much as about 30%.

Brent crude oil had closed below $55 a barrel yesterday for the first time in more than a year as macroeconomic warning signals sent markets reeling across the globe. The rupee, on the other hand, had closed at 69.70 against the US dollar yesterday.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

I cannot cite any link for this information but according to some sources in the Govt, it has been decided that there will not be any hike in excise duty till the center elections.

So, if price of crude doesn't shoot up, it should be a rather smooth sail for us till then.

Fuel prices crash

International oil prices have fallen around 5-6% in the last one week. Hold on to your tank-filling for a week, if possible to get the benefits of the crash

The Official Fuel Prices Thread-petrol-tax-tweet.png

Agenda:
1. Close the display.
2. Start my car and drive to the nearest petrol bunk.
3. If the new prices are already in effect, return home muttering chosen expletives.
4. Otherwise, fill-up for my upcoming long drive. Yay!

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

Tanked up at Rs. 69 per litre today (petrol). BP bunk on Bomanhalli-Begur road. Good to settle the bill at <Rs. 2000 for the third consecutive time. It's usually 27-28l.

Had no idea on the tax increase news till I returned home today. Guess it's applicable from tomorrow? Can relax for a couple of weeks now.

Re: The Official Fuel Prices Thread

I came across this relatively unknown app which indicates nearby bunks ( currently only public sector ones) with latest price details shown. A good app if it integrates privates players too.
