A "lovely" way to display cars.

Re: Unlikely Automobiles at Unlikely Places

Strange bedfellows here:

Unlikely Automobiles at Unlikely Places-20121023-14.51.41.jpg

I found the twosome parked next to each other at the Durga Puja pandal parking lot. The Jaguar 1.5 L is from the 1948 vintage and the Nano a newbie.
Now the Nano's "Maalik" and the Jaguar's "Maalik" are the same. Indeed "Sab Ka Maalik Ek Hai".

A tomato red Santro is perched at the top of a Hyundai showroom.(Sorry for the mobile picture quality)
Now here can be a few meanings:
(1) That the Santro has had the times of its life and is now set for a heavenly abode.
(2) That the Santro has put Hyundai Motors on the top (2nd from top) position.
(3) That the Santro now with a grandmotherly status is watching everything down below!

This one is from 26/04/1999 and displays Merc A Class' bodies one above the other - venue is the then Daimler Chrysler plant near Rio De Janerio, Brazil.

Re: Unlikely Automobiles at Unlikely Places

This is what happened on Sunday (27/10/2013) last. The Gypsy was taken as a rescue vehicle for our 50+50 kms Central India Vintage Automotive Association (CIVAA), Run to a farm in Dorli near Nagpur.
The rescue vehicle ends up being towed by an old Ford jeep :

Hyundai Santro - End of the road and perched to RIP now:

The car faces the highway (NH 6) and the front is OK. Surprisingly, the rear windscreen and the fuel filler cover are missing .

It's there since a long time now.
I first saw it back in 2010.

That is one of the worst shops in KB to get your car accessories, rude and impolite people.

I personally would never get anything done on my car from Karol Bagh unless I have a reference there from someone.
I once got cheated, when I got new seat covers done on my Santro. The guy charged me twice the amount saying its a bucket finish, & I stupidly believed him until I got know what exactly a bucket finish is, when i got it done on my Swift from auto-form.
The Karol Bagh guy didn't even remove my seats for putting on the new covers.
These guys can take you for a ride if you don't have the knowledge.

It's been there for ages.
I'll take the second option.

Re: Unlikely Automobiles at Unlikely Places

A Reliant showroom in the U.K. They have also perched a tiny Reliant there at the top .

(picture from old British cars FB page)

Sipani Motors in India collaborated with Reliant and made the Dolphin and later the Montana.
