The tailights on the vehicle vehicle could be a match. Maybe Ford has put a big box in the back of the car to make it appear like a wagon( referring to the magazine pics).

Could be an Octavia....Skoda had said that the car would be getting a face-lift to compete with the forth coming Sonata or even the Lancer which is due later this year.

New sonata tail lamps are carbon copy of that oc the accord ...

New lancer which is the cedia again has a diffrent set of tail lamps are much sharper and the C pillar is narrower ...

the new octavia looks closest to the one in the pic the side profile looks similar notvery confident on the tail lamps though..this thread was pretty much concluded that the test car is the new octavia..

i dont think its the mystery ford...

1.6 ltr Petrol and 1.4 Litre TD engine options make it sound like an Ikon replacement than a C++ segment car.

B376, The platform code gives it all away. Its nothing more than a tropicalised Fiesta saloon and it will share a ton of parts with the Fusion which was B226.

B stands for B-segment and not matter what Ford marketing would like you to believe, its not a C or C+ segment car. If it was, then why would it be positioned against the City. The Ikon will co-exist lower down the price ladder. The comment about having as much space as a D segment car is hard to digest. 1.6 Duratec is from the Fusion.

Going by the pictures, I am expecting fresh sheetmetal front and rear, maybe a stretched wheelbase (would be Xpensive to do), more comfortable rear seat (for chauffer driven types), raised/softened suspension, bigger A/C compressor, delete ABS and airbags, bigger boot, detune engines for Indian fuel....standard fare.

no dude ..they will continue with the Ikon.. since there is no point discontinuing Ikon after all the efforts made in localising the inputs...

1.6l on the B376 is different from that of the 1.6 Ikon...pricing is expected to match the NHC and the Optra 1.6 ...do read the article links that i have posted ..

the new car from ford will be sort of upgrade from Ikon it will be pitted against NHC
Ikon won't be discontinued
the petrol engine will be same that used in Fusion there will also be a choice of 1.4 common rail direct injection turbo diesel
the car is currently undergoing cooling tests (engine & ac)

Looks like Rtech is right.

Door handles match, fuel filler location matches (note the flap in the car cover), taillights match somewhat, A pillar matches and most telling of all, the pattern of dots on the front door matches !!!!!!!!!!! now dont tell me that's just a coincidence.

looks like this car is going to stir up the C/C+ segment, just as the Ikon did when it entered the market. I personally like the looks (or whatever we can make out), and the latest Ford's have always been fun to drive.

If only they brought out a diesel engine to rival the Skoda's...

Or for that matter, even a rival to the CRDi. I still feel that there will be a slew of TD engines before everybody jumps on the Common Rail bandwagon. Cheaper to make a mark this way, and then offer the latest in diesel technology with a super price jump.
