A bit off topic, but I think it was the screamers - the RX100 and the Shogun that really put the spotlight on easy to own performance bikes. Though the CBZ was the first sporty 4 stroke, the rule of the 4 strokers was inevitable rather than a revolution ...

I own a samurai, it did 70k km in 10 years. It really is a rugged no problem bike. I hardly spent anything on that bike till now. (Changed tyres and brake liners, thats it).

Yeah the sounds.. sweet music. Yamaha & shogun had distinct sounds.
Shogun had really bad mileage. 15-20kmpl i think.

Both distinct in their aural interplay. RX100 always sounds relaxed and laidback compared to Shogun. A Shogun screaming above 70 kph in fourth is hair raising stuff (for a boy I was then).
