| Senior - BHPian | Part 7: Other Stalls at the Auto Show. Special thanks to the folks at Gymboree, BIG FM, make my puncture, Motor India, Metro 6 Magazine for posing for the pics. T-BHP was being recognized by most of the visitors/exhibitors and they spoke to us about the site, how crazy they are about T-BHP and how some of their applications to join were rejected!                              The Pantry. Heavily overpriced and the worst quality! We got hair in our samosas (2 for 70 INR) and the cucumbers in the sandwiches were bitter! So much for the brand Novotel!   |

I too heard similar comments...but did correct them as well: 2 Little boys walking by the Newmars stall.....the younger one says (about Suren's fiat): Mini Cooper! The older one thankfully seems to know better: he gives a disdainful look at his bro and exclaims "Mini cooper-a?! huh!" and I tell them "Fiat" and this kid nods in agreement and tells his little bro "Fiat 500"!! Then a couple who stopped by the DHAA stall look at hillram's Lammy. The lady goes (in telugu) something like "it seems to be a Bajaj" and I turn towards them and say "LAMBRETTA!" and the man suddenly nods in his head too and says in telugu "yes yes, Lambretta...." I reckon I would've probably lost my cool with a few others who wrongly recognised the classics had I been around as long as most of you had! | |

| Senior - BHPian  | Not only Junta - even journalists Forget the aam junta as mentioned by Stanher and Pulsar, the first day I was there, I was checking out the AMG in the MB stall with the rep there being very helpful. Along comes this johnny, with a cameraman in tow etc. and butts in to declare "Aah AMG, by McLarens". Well that particular gyani got a helluva lot of gyaan from me . The other motoring 'expert' journos were no better and most missed the i20 CRDi on display there. The 650i too was not really appreciated and the questions went like - what if it rains? top speed? mileage kya hai? Making one think - is it worth having an auto show in India? Why not let people just buy either (a) the cheapest cars or (b) the biggest flashiest cars one can make! Thank god for TBHP where people talk about cars sensibly.
