Geande scoop Sid.

But somehow the engine and the features are let down for me, but hope fiat do the right thing in the prices. if they do that then definitely fiat is the winner here.

a 100PS for the 1.4 FIRE would have been BODER i guess, but still now everything depends on the PRICE and test drive. Cant wait at all.

I am eyeing on the 1.4 Emotion pack, if they price it close to i20 Asta. Let's wait for hte Grande release in delhi.

Somebody mentioned in the other (now defunct) Punto thread that the Punto is smaller than the Palio. That is wrong! Punto is bigger than the Palio, atleast going by external dimensions. Palio has utilised internal space wisely, hope to see the same in the Punto as well.

Check these:

Punto:
Dimensions:
Length: 3987 mm
Width: 1685 mm
Height: 1495 mm
Wheelbase: 2510 mm
Ground clearance: 165 mm

Palio:
Dimensions:
Length: 3827 mm
Width: 1620 mm
Height: 1440 mm
Wheelbase: 2373 mm
Ground clearance: 170 mm

So who is big?

E+ petrol for 5.5L OTR, that is day dreaming!

But if it turns out to be true, Jazz (around 9L OTR if we add up alloys, fog lamps, auto climate control, without the Blue&Me, and USB drive) will be 60% costlier than Punto with same power and same specs except for the boot space. Jazz got more boot space because of that ugly butt like the Wagon R.

More realistic dream would be E+ petrol OTR at about 6.5L.

Looks good i guess they could launch a sporty variant with the 1.6 petrol or 1.4 turbo to produce more than 100+bhp

Just gave a call to a guy who works at the dealer which delivered my Linea.
Asked him about pricing details, he was very reluctant to tell me.
I asked him about diesel variant but surprisingly he said he felt Petrol motor much better to drive . The car is at the dealers basement all covered up, he told me that he has clicked some photos as only 2 salesmen at the dealer have seen the car.

He assured me that fit n finish outside is excellent and upon requesting on diesel pricing he said official details will come in a day or two but hinted at a 5.5-5.75 ex showroom for Emotion.
He will bring the car to my house for a TD, let me convince him for a TD before official launch though its tough.

I think the E+ petrol Linea is under 8L OTR Pune. Based on that I think 5.5 L is close to what the GP will be priced at. If they price it at 6.5 L I think many people will prefer to buy the i20 or the Linea.

IMO the 1.4 petrol top end could well if priced correctly.

(hope the plastic quality in punto is better than in linea)

doing some stupid calculations.

if you look at linea Emotion pack. you get full loaded car. chrome this and that. blue and me. audio controls etc. sun blind at rear. at 7.3ish lacs. which is good pricing. now punto is a hatch. it is less than 4m long. but it has 1.4ltr instead of 1.2ltr engine.(emotion pack). so it seems 5.25 to 5.5 lacs is i think gonne be the pricing for emotion pack petrol punto.

they want to attract people to fiat brand again. otherwise hyundai and maruti wins again and again. i20s are selling. dont know about the ritzs. i really hope they get it right with punto.
