C segment options

I feel that there are not much options in the C segment as in the D or B segments. Hyundai is a gone case, Ford has become boring. That leaves Optra and NHC. They have their own negatives. No clear winner .

your views please.

You are missing out stars in C segment. It would do well if you put down your requirements clearly and in order of priority. You'll get lot of inputs from T-BHPians. For starters, browse through earlier posts.

You said it pal.Lots of freaks are waiting for the same.
And knowing Maruti......by the time they launch the make-over new look Baleno it'll not be before 2007 atleast. And trust me,it'll have no buyers then. The automobile market is really opening up and Maruti need to speed up its proceedings. They've got a great opportunity with the Swift launch and should think of capitalising on it rather than boasting over its sucess in the months to come.

The new Baleno is apparently under testing, and if i am correct, expect a launch sometime later this year. Cosmetic changes are primarily what one can expect.

As for the Liana, Suzuki might wait till it develops the next-gen Liana before they get it here.

They might just put the Esteem's original headlamp and grille on the Baleno, since they've just finished the reverse...

Or perhaps we might get a Baleno with Alto headlamps.

Ambassdaor is in the C segment? I thought it was in its own segment. Like everyone said, there are plenty of options for all kinds of requirements such as VFM (esteem), luxury (Optra) and performance (Baleno).

At one time SIAM were in a quandry after someone found that the Amby was the only vehicle that could be classified as in 'C' category after considering the external and internal dimensions. None of the others could match C segment specs, and SIAM finally altered their classification criteria or did something like that to accomodate the so called 'C' segment cars...

Guys, i desparately need some help in choosing my new car. I have a budget of 6L. I have tested almost all the possible options and my observations are

1. Baleno :
Pathetic plastic interiors
Outdated head/tail lamps
5.9 L on road in Pune

2. Petra ELX PS
Terrific car, fully loaded.
Pathetic company. i'm not confident fiat would be around for long
Pathetic back seat.

3. CORSA 1.4 GSi
SMALL and cramped
Great new beige interiors
good for city driving

4. Accent GLE
Terrible ride quality
no fun driving it.

5. Ikon
yet to test.

any help in making the decision would be appreciated

Tata Indigo:
Improved TDI engine.
Nation wide ASS
VFM Car.

HM Amby Grand/Avigo:
Plenty of engine options,
Dated design, pretty reliable and safe.
Now comes with P/S, A/C and Bucket Seats.
Very good car indeed. Signs that HM is improving.

Mitsubishi Lancer:
This one is my favourite.
Awesome vehicle.

Gears,
Manish.
