Good pricing. Give it with the warranty deal and they will sell a lot. The warranty deal is the ice breaker for people to forget GM's history.

Well this is costlier than an i10.

would a lot of people buy it over an i10?

thats a very difficult thing to acheive, and frankly, weird looks and 100 more cc is never enough to tilt the balance, at least never for a common man.

Will have to wait for 3-4 of months to give a verdict on the acceptance factor. Beats pricing seems to be quite competitive.

This aggressive pricing should give cues to upcoming launches like Polo & Figo.

Honda must be wondering what to do with the Jazz...

GM seems to be taking all the right steps. First the Cruze and now the Beat. Competitive pricing in my opinion. Another addition to already crowded hatch market. It will be interesting to see how the Beat affects the sales of its stable mate, the Spark. The diesel should not be delayed for long and GM should get it in as soon as they can.

Looks indeed are subjective. I do find i10 little feminine (no offense to i10 owners). I would anytime prefer masculine looks of Beat.
Also 100 more cc may not be enough to tilt the balance, but 21% more power might mean something for some people.

Awesome price,Definitely in the right direction. hope GM doesnt make customers wait for Delivery like the Swift. It will definitely affect i10 and swift sales mainly due to its exterier and interier looks.

Awesome pricing GM! But two more things needs to be done for the home run.
1. Bring in the diesel (with the MJD?) at 60K more
2. bring in an auto at 50 K more.

With those two in place, they would capture a pretty decent market share for sure.

My sense is it will affect i10 and ritz more than Swift since it is a tall boy design. Infact to me Beat looks very much like a Ritz

Hi nurni76, that makes sense. Swift might still have its own followers. Another Car to be affected will be the A-star. its exactly in the same price gap. looks to me that the A-star will have lesser number of followers now, although I have heard a lot about its handling and features

Nice launching price by Gm. An diesel would do wonders to there portfolio and if priced and placed properly they will surely create a chaos situtaion in opposite camps, but that will need real efforts from Gm to live up customer expectations with proper customer feedbacks and changes according to feedback at regular intervals.
