yeah ...you got it right dude ..
it is not any of the Fiesta or Focus ...
only word on segment position
- "the product will be placed in the segment where ford has no presence yet "

the new model has been in the making since the past 2 and a half years ...
developed by a team of 20 indian engineers at multiple locations spanning from austrailia ,europe and India...it is being developed for India where if successful will be exported to other countries ..
most of its parts will be localised...

Guys, after seeing the pics of the soon-to-be-launched Ford, I remembered the spy pics put up some time back by our member.

Take a look, i think we were way off the mark with our Skoda predictions on this one. This is probably the new Ford.

take a look at this link and see.

very probable ..
since at the moment we are not expecting a new skoda launch , certainly no VW launches, no GM sedans coming up either ..we already know what HM/Mitsu are coming up with ..honda has the civic probability but the spy pics sure dont match that description ..
looks like upper C segment ..high localisation will surely help ford price it in the NHC /Optra 1.6 range ..

The article says the new car is going to based on the ford fusion and will be positioned above the ikon against the honda city.
I just hope they haven't come up with a sedan version of the fusion!

from what the spy shots looked on a previous thread,if that vehicle is indeed the ford secret vehicle then it dosen't look too big.looks like a c+ segment vehicle.

ford still needs the focus in the 10-12 lac bracket.

I think Ford need to do some hard thinking about their product portfolio in India. They have launched 5 cars so far:

1. Escort
2. Ikon
3. Mondeo
4. Fusion
5. Endeavour

Of these, only one - the Ikon - has been a true success. Rather than seeing what has worked in other markets, they need to understand what the Indian market requirements are.

And yes, please equip the Endeavour with a common rail diesel engine. It is the ONLY SUV with an old fashioned powerplant whereas everyone from Scorpios to Safaris also have CRDi variants.
