LHD Xenon at a TASC

Spotted this LHD Xenon at the local TASC near Tata Motors plant. This is the one owned and run by TML. All their ERC vehicles end up their for service and repairs ( that includes all the commercial , passenger and military use vehicles). The drivers were taking a nap and i was able to click a few snaps. Suprised to see that this was a Petrol version of Xenon as compared to the Diesel thats launched in India

Re: Tata Xenon XT - 2010

Nice find there. Thanks for sharing.

Just wondering if this is a new petrol engine being developed by Tata? AFIK, TaMo don't have a big petrol engine, except may be for the old Safari engine.

This could be a new engine under test as well! Would be interesting to know the specs.

Re: Tata Xenon XT - 2010

TML will very soon be launching the Xenon as an LCV as well, positioned just above the 207DI- it will come with a DI engine as well as a CNG version with black bumpers- confirmed news and may be of interest to some who may want to pick u a cheaper, albeit basic, xenon and then proceed to customise it.

The loadbay of the Xenon is inadequately small to be of any commercial use. Unless of course they launch a single cab version or extend the chassis at the rear to have Xenon XL!

I will not be an integrated load bay like in the Xenon XT- instead will be the pukka commercial type with some overhang. Any yes, there will be a single cab version as well.

Re: Tata Xenon XT - 2010

Single cab Xenon CV seems to have been already launched. I have seen it on the roads in Delhi as well as Faridabad. Seemed to be in regular use or should I say abuse since they almost looked like 207! It doesn't look great since the loadbody is a straight lift from 207, not the sleek one you see in regular Xenon. I think it'll harm the Xenon's "lifestyle" image but then not many buy the Xenon anyway.

Even the regular Xenon doesn't have an integrated load body since there's a slight gap between the cab and load body unlike some of the small pick ups abroad that don't have that gap. But I got your point!

The Export Xenon LHD

Now this had been hidden off the road, and - apologies if I found it much later than other hawk-eyes.
Left hand drive, LSD, good paint that you dont see on the desi market cars. Some times deep in my darkest fears I wonder if discrimination starts at home.

I drove 7700 Km to Leh and back and not one new car, till my first day at work and on the old NH4, BOOM.

And a 200KMPH speedo on a Tata vehicle. What did I miss here, or like my son said, maybe they found the turbo cheat code like on NFS.

WRY Smile here.

Re: The Export Xenon LHD

Nice catch! These must be for the ZA market. Front seat base angle is pretty steep too. Is the seat hight lower than the ones sold here? Or is that due to the camera angle?

Re: The Export Xenon LHD

Limited Slip Differential is standard on the Xenon 4wd version sold here. The paint quality on my cousin's Xenon is as good as Safari. Not sure about the difference in Speedometer.

Even i spotted the CV version single cab Xenon(207 replacement?), it looks exactly like the Xenon. They were trying to sell it as a lifestyle vehicle, earlier it had resemblance to taxi image Sumo Grande, now they have a new CV which looks like the Xenon.
