While this move is unfortunate, it is perhaps just what the doctor prescribed for the ailing Fiat-India.

For example, I shudder to think of visiting the sole Hyderabad Fiat dealer for just about any reason - but it is necessary. Perhaps this move will broaden the dealer base and end up improving A S S.

See my post about my miserable experience at Anuroop a couple of weeks ago:

This is kinda weird, its okay for a company not selling cars here to outsource production to Tata (like Rover) but for a company which already has production capability, does it sound right ??

MSN says TATA motors to make FIAT PALIO in PUNE

http://autofeed.msn.co.in/pandorav3/...37645e0bd.aspx

makes sense..since TATA knows that PALIO is much better than INDICA

hasopi, If Tata is so desperate to get Fiat help (as you put it) why are Fiat fans more excited about this news ??
I really find it funny how most Fiat lovers are so desperate to prove how their cars are superior...is no one ever objective ?
I own a Indica, but doesnt mean I am not gonna accept its faults or the company *confused*
I have no problems saying Palio seems the better car either !
And in the poll , what is Fait

I would vote for a 3rd option, can't say till more details are out

Nicely put up Abhay. Good to see some sensible automobile enthusiasts around who really want to argue straight at the point rather than defend their machines unecessarily.

So what do u want to say..its FIAT forcing an alliance with TATA to sell TATA cars thru FIAT's global network. Gud joke!

TATA may be big in India..but TATA very well know how much it costs to develop new cars..where as they can get them easily from FIAT..and thats exactly what TATA is doing? Otherwise what after marina? Will they add another piece of metal at back? To avoid that they are joining with FIAT
