Its time for Hyundai to give us an option to "Build your own car" feature to add more flexibility which we are asking through so many different threads.

Hyundai has brought these changes to fight the POLO, FIGO and the new variants of Punto (1.2). The battle has begun. Waiting for the Toyota hatch to join the race as well. Competition is always good.

Good sensible option methinks.
If only they would launch the 1.4 petrol with a manual tranny sans the moon roof and price it sensibly.

I think, Hyundai is certainly feeling the heat. The higher versions of the i10 have started slowing down due to the Beat and Figo. Its what Ive heard from my friend, who wanted to buy one. The waiting period for top end variants of i10 is nil while mid-versions takes time (dont know how much). Moreover, with heat from Figo and Polo (which offers better driving experience and higher quality respectively). So, Hyundai is introducing more i20 varisnts with possibly a lower price tag to attract more customers who move away from the top end i10's

Hyudai is doing everything except introducing a new and more powerful engine. With out that I think the customers are going to find Polo or Punto more interesting.

Competition is turning the heat. I had test driven i20 and later booked Polo. I got minimum 5 calls from Hyundai to understand what attracted me to Polo
poloman,

what you told them

Sid,
what about pricing details?

Yes, they should introduce 1.4L manual petrol at reasonable price. Or may be a 1.2 AT in i20 should also attract some buyers!

Wish if Hyundai could have added real-time fuel consumption into the MID; atleast in Asta variants.

Always felt that i20 would have room for entry level variant as Era similar to i10, but never felt that it can have Sportz variant.
Hyundai India should have launched these variants earlier instead of waiting for launch of Beat/Polo/Figo. They should have started these variants just after having monthly sales of i20 increasing to 4000+.

Santro interior photo shows 'air intake' knob of AC in central position which is not possible in reality. It can be only at either end for 'recirculate' mode or 'fresh intake' mode. Looks like photoshop designer wanted to keep it at center similar to knobs of AC temp. & AC air flow direction.

Thanks for the update Sid. So this is an intermediate face lift for the i20 along with a re-jig of the variants. The addition of the 100PS 1.4 petrol with a manual gearbox would have certainly made things a lot sweeter. Somehow, the chrome radiator grill on the i20 is not to my taste. It makes the front end look overtly flashy. The body coloured grill looks just fine.

Also, the design of the alloys require a change. Maybe they could think of upgrading to the 15 inch alloys available in the UK in the 'Comfort' trim. The design looks good to me. Have a look at the second pic.

They could also think of adding this light blue colour to the range. Its running on 16 inch alloys that are available for the top spec 'Style' variant. Though 16 inchers are a bit unpractical for India, the 15 inchers make perfect sense.

Smart move by Hyundai to increase their presence in various price bands with an already successful product.

This should do wonders to their sales, the lower segment is well covered by the Santro & mid by i10. So with different variants of i10 & i20 they have covered almost all new hatches in the current market.

I wish they would launch cheaper variants in the A/T. I feel they are missing a market opportunity by not offering A/Ts in lower trim levels.

FATC on Magna is a good move. So is the provision of steel grills, which seem to be standard in exported models. DTE and FE display would be great to have. So is the AT options in the new variants just like the i10 models.
