Wow - didn't know that! Had a quick look at the Toyota India site and it is indeed true.
And people blast the Verna (couple of lakhs cheaper) for having only ABS and not airbags!
Honda is leading the way in safety - airbags + ABS in all the cars they offer if i am not mistaken?

That's the reason I didn't recommend Corolla Base Trim to Top end ANHC M/T. You've got a nice handle.

I still think it is a smart marketing move from Hyundai to drop the Asta (O) CRDI variant. Many people just compare the price of base versions and top versions without looking at the features. So, for example compared to the Polo whose top-end version costs 6.8L (ex-showroom), i20 top-end model used to cost more than 7.2L (ex-showroom). So most laymen automatically think - 6.8L for a German, 7.2 L for a Korean => buy the German. Now the i20 top-end version demands just about 10K premium over Polo HL - a justified premium for 4cyl v 3cyl, 1.4L v 1.2L and 6-speed MT v 5-speed MT and far more established A.S.S. The i20 suddenly far more VFM compared to Polo HL.

I agree, it makes more sense now. Hyundai can now brag about the 6th gear.

when are the deliveries for BS iV i20 diesel expected to start or have they already started? is there a waiting period?

last sunday I booked the i20 asta petrol version (BS4) and yesterday got the call from dealer that the car would be available for delivery this sunday itself. Now that makes me a happy customer. :-).

These are ARAI figures. Please refer to i10 1.2L mileage in Long Term Reviews. You can expect 10-12 kmpl in traffic with 100% AC.

This is a pretty good review of JayD's car.

abt the Polo, I still dont think it would cause too much trouble. Certainly not with the non-existent feature list for a similar price tag, a 3-pot engine and of course the amazingly long wait time upwards of 3 months!!! Wonder what the sales analysts were doing with their expected demand or is it a problem with them failing to simply meet demand. what I last heard was that VW has a backlog of 5K polos and have delivered about a 1000 till date.
