Highlight was one Vtec with nos which creamed a chevy rolon car.
Interesting, I was made to believe that it was the other way around.

Bone stock engine. No headers, no free flow, not even an aftermarket air filter. Was just running his Race Dynamics ECU in performance mode. If anyone is crazry about speed, this is what they need.

Well the formula car was first off the starting line due to sheer power to weight ratio. Just after the Vtec hit the redline in 1st, NOS was triggered and that made all the difference. The Vtec was ahead of the rolon by a few feet.

OK... so here are the videos. Sorry about the quality, it was shot with my cellphone camera. Hope u like 'em.

For avoidance of doubt I would like to clarify that this was supposed to be a fun and stress free event where everyone could relax without too many rules, opening up of cars and engines etc.

Which is why it was announced as an unofficical drag in the first place. But due to some procedures (which in my personal opinion are highly avoidable) we had to make an SR, apply for permits etc etc.

We had organised the lights from FRK but due to some last minute confusion the equipment could not be sent to us from Bangalore, we appologise for the same.

I thank everyone for attending and hope you all had a good time. I am sorry for not being able to hang around with your guys, there were several issues with regards to the races which had to be discussed and I was occupied.

This is certainly only the begining. We will have lots of events for you guys, including a mega track day in September. So stay tuned gentlemen.

Aditya was surprised that there was no scrutiny. My answer was in response to his question.

We kinda wanted a very fun event. Not too serious etc. Just a day to hang around the track and have fun.

Applying for licences / permits making and issuing an SR etc. makes one think that it's only for serious draggers, which is what we didnt want. We wanted anybody in the janta to bring a Jalopy to a Ferrari and come and have fun.

I apologize if i hit a wrong note Farhan. From what i had read in other SR threads i expected a scrutiny thats all. Above all, I was participating only for fun. No offence meant. I thouroughly enjoyed myself.

Thanks to everyone for making it happen. It sure was a weekend well spent.

Ok. I guess it sounded different the first time your wrote it then.

But I believe his words were:
Quote:
No one was scrutinising the cars, no one checked if seatbelts were in good condition, etc (which is religiously done on trackdays).
So I presume he was talking about pre-event scrutinee. Checking if a car is has some basic safety does not really make it a serious event and surely nothing to do with any paperwork procedures? we don't hear of people complaining about that on track days, so why would they take offense to that here?

Lol. Licences and a permit never stopped any of the speedruns from getting more entries than they could handle!

Anyways. Enough about that. Looking forward to some pics of the cars entered. And any more videos?? Did the infamous Skyline turn up?

Nope. The list of cars that participated - Esteem's, Vtec's, zens (one white zen was really fast and kept pace with a vtec. Dunno whether he won against it but he was really quick), the Cayenne, Mivec, Swift, Chevy Rolon, and a Maruti 800 whose driver was so pepped up, he was doing high speed runs in the pit lane too (after the event was over)
