TOP GEAR returns with Season 17! UPDATE Now on air

Anybody else taking a leave on the 29th to watch Topgear?

I quite liked Powered Up , which I found atleast at par with the Italian Job and The Good, the Bad, the Ugly. It does not bore you at any point of time, like Duel does at times.

A bit of a dumb question I guess , will this be telecast on BBC Entertainment in India ? Or do we have to check it out on the net ?

Good question, I will be checking the net, not sure if the telecast will be at the same time in India as well.

Can you give some more info on any of the host site where I can watch the show? I usually download episodes when they are up on P2P servers. But as I am out of the town, I am relying heavily on tata photon and its crappy speed. I can't wait till next year for this special!!

I doubt if BBC Entertainment would telecast this Indian special this early. They have just started with season 17.

And it's impossible for them to telecast this show tomorrow at 11 p.m. If they do, they will be airing this before BBC Two actually!

That's not going to happen anyway. There's atleast a week's time before it airs on BBC Entertainment.

One more thing I have observed that the studio bits somehow feel changed on Indian TV. Also , they seemed to have changed the background scores on most bits before airing here, resulting in hard to hear spoken bits.

Today's episode is of Albania, Season 16.

As per the schedule, season 16 is still scheduled till 31st. For dates after that, the website states "Schedules are being updated."

Maybe not this week, but India shouldn't be that far away.

Edit: The Top Gear ad (in-between the show) talks about new shows & new season in the new year.

Even I doubt that BBC entertainment will telecast this in India now. Finalgear will be uploading it as soon as they air it so am waiting for them to upload so that I can download it. Will update the link if they upload the download link.

Its nearly 1Hr 30Mins long show, simply enjoyed the whole episode

So, coming back to the Top Gear India Special. Delhi and Mumbai bits were downright boring! Jaipur hill-climb event was good but nowhere as great as the HIMALAYAS! The Ashes series was touching indeed! I wish they had shot more of the Himalayas and less of the cities. But then I cannot argue on this, India as we have learned through essays and stories has always been portrayed as Unity in diversity. Overall a good, neat (with lots of crashes!) work by TG guys!

In the end, the Brits got a bit carried away with their British-ness though, but that's alright. And 90 minutes are too short to cover this whole magnificent nation. Some great moments still...
