Just finished watching the India special. I only liked the final parts of the film and the rest was not up to the mark.
Top Gear is now more a comedy show than a car show. It is losing its sheen.

TG India Special

Start was great, got boring after a while and picked up when reaching Himalayas. Could have been better than whats shown. All the excitement went down the drain. Too much talking and less action. Disappointing.

Amen to that!! not their best performance. Himalayan parts could have been more, the grandeur of it was not there. They could have completely taken away the Delhi party part. What a sick joke that was.

I thought they would be driving indian cars. There was an Optra Magnum in Japiur hill climb in the video. No timing but. That could have been close to the Jag.

I would have loved to see Jeremy in a Nano, James in an Amby and the Hamster driving a M800.

It would have been good if it was like a challenge.

Loved the part when the drove on indian highways at night and were literally petrified.

Thanks for providing the links , just finished watching the episode . Frankly I am a bit disappointed by the fact that it was a bit too much of gas and not enough of cars . Somehow the spark was missing, it was more of a travelogue . I would have loved the show if for example they had done a comparo of similar specs India best selling cars in 3-4 segments with the similar ones that are in UK or even Europe - just an idea .

Just finished watching the Christmas special & overall, I feel it has been a letdown as far as TG Christmas specials are concerned. Things started to lose steam once they reached Delhi with the obviously pasted-on-at-the-last-moment party idea.

When I heard Indian petrolheads, I expected some Indian cars participating the Hill climb. All I got was a glimpse of the Maruti Gypsy & the TATA Nano. However, an I-10 was on the leaderboards & a Magnum could be spotted.

This wasn't even as good as the India On Four Wheels 2 episode Mini-series done by the BBC a while back. I could see so much potential lost. Even the Shimla/Himalayas part was hurried upon.

It would have taken the episode to a different level had they driven Indian cars across India. Also, they could have included some other features that India is known for and could have done away with the Delhi party but nevertheless I enjoyed watching the India special.

Just finished watching the christmas special and you could almost feel that the chemistry just wasnt there. I am not surprised though because everytime stopped on the road they were swarmed by people who would have gotten excited looking at the camera crew. It was hurried and I know the reason why. Still could be worse?

Just saw the India Special, and was not impressed with it at all. There were a few amusing moments but as a whole I thought it was weak and directionless. Clarkson, Hamster and Capt. Slow looked tired and like they were just going through the motions.
The whole premise was pointless, just like the 1 and a half hours of my life that I will never get back. Sadly, going by this episode, looks like the show is getting very close to it’s sell by date.

Disappointing to see the bubble burst in that way.
Pointless episode, with no set agenda.
Apart from a few scenes like the banner on the train and night driving, everything else was pretty boring.
It could have been better, They should come back and do a proper road trip in proper cars to do justice.
