Here it looks like the alien from Predator is grinning like this

The side profile is looking nice and clean though. Also, wonder what happened to the launch of the 7-seater variant?

Re: New Wagon R

"Honey! I shrunk the MPV!" Look

I like this WagonR. Looks more like a modern MPV from front quarters - more like the Nissan Elegrand. The headlights, sloping window sill, the flared wheel arches and that ridge running across the whole car -

Re: New Wagon R

The car looks nice.

But I did not like the shape given to rear quarter glass; that chamfer. It does not go well with the theme of otherwise clean no-nonsense design.

The new design in red and the present one on white:

Re: New Wagon R

This definitely is not the next Indian Wagon-R. I saw the proto type in Japan. It's a bulbous shaped bigger car than current Wagon-R. True, to form, looks as hideous as current version.

The Wagon R is the vehicle that offers more comfort in the hatchback The new car comes with a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple car-play

The engine that was given in previous models is also the strength of the new Wagon R power. The 1.0 liter three cylinder K-series petrol engine will BS VI compliance.

Spotted this 2019 WagonR with temp registration plate in Powai.
Have bookings started for this?
Sorry about the bad angle of the pic. Was in an auto going to work

Couldn't get the front image due to traffic. The rear might not be to everyone's liking, however the bigger rear windshield gives a big car feel to it. The lights could have been a little higher IMHO. The car does look a bit premium in person, not sure if the interior does justice to the outer premium feel.

Let's see how the JDM design fares with Indian buyers.

Saw this WagonR parked in a society in Dwarka. It had electric vehicle sticker all over the body.

Re: The next-gen 2017 Suzuki WagonR

This to me is the "StingRay" with a different door and tail light design.
Those tail lights look absolutely hideous. Actually, worse than hideous! I hope this is not the "final" version. Those lights have (almost) been made part of the rear bumper. Not sure how long they will last in Bombay traffic with the regular shunts from rickshaws and two wheelers.
A real nonsense design from MS.
Regards,
SS

Re: The next-gen 2017 Suzuki WagonR

Why does the steering in the last image have buttons on both the sides? Seems like as many buttons as in the Marazzo. Does it have Cruise Control and MID buttons on the steering?

There's a different Stingray version of this Wagon-R in Japan.
It comes with a 660cc turbo engine with Hybrid tech and AWD (Suzuki calls it Allgrip).
The normal one is 660cc Naturally Aspirated.

Re: The next-gen 2017 Suzuki WagonR

It's all the more important for Maruti to give this aging workhorse a much need refresh. The sales have fallen drastically.

Quote:
The sharpest fall, of 21.6%, was reported by the mini segment comprising old workhorses Alto and WagonR, which posted 29,954 units in sales. The mid-sedan Ciaz, which was recently given a facelift, also posted a decline of 4.8% to 3,838 units

Link
However a mere facelift may not do the job and they would need to bring a differentiator to the new model. The EV theme sounds something just right for this purpose but how they would deliver it at this price point remains to be seen. Then again mass market projector lamps first made their debut on the Stingray.

Drive on,
Shibu.

Maybe this could be the reason as they would want to clear the inventory before launching a completely new one. Maruti will start mass production of new Wagon R from mid January 2019 as per this report of Gaadwaadi.

As per the reports available, it's the 6th generation Wagon R already available in international markets. So it's not a facelift. Let's hope it's good. What I would like is a hybrid variant of Wagon R rather than a totally electric one.
