^ That is indeed a Hamann X6. Pretty pointless car though. :P

There is a small Hamann showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road. Most of the exotic car showrooms are located near there. There is also this showroom named 'Exotic Cars' there which had a yellow Enzo on display for a few years and suddenly, this July it vanished and was replaced by a white Carrera GT. I'm not sure if the car was bought or went for servicing.

@flyingspur Trust me, a year away from Dubai and you'll feel you've landed in some other city. The Walk should satisfy your car spotting needs now, however.

I've also attached pics of a friend's Camaro SS we used for the last two months.

Sorry about the bad quality of the images, blame it on the excitement if you will.

@avishar, @karthik - Well for the most part they do a good job as if they make even a small mistake the owners who are usually top notch folks will raise hell! That said, several of us do not take the cars there as it can get quite messy and disorganised. After one experience where a 'newbie' valet practically twisted my key to start the car (not the start button) I decided not to take the risk. The larger hotels with flat parking are ok but some of the 'business' hotels with multistorey car parks can be risky. Valet work is usually subcontracted out to Valtrans and they take no legal responsibilty for their handling of your vehicles! With all this we usually take the 'regular' saloons and 4Wds to the malls and hotels...

@flyingspur I would say MOE/Dubai Mall are good for passive spotting and JBR is for gawking at the cruisers ...amongst other things... ;-)

Hello!

That is actually the Dubai Police's impound yard.

The cars there would be of different types mostly. 1) mandatory impound for traffic offences like cutting red signal (varying from 1 month to up to two years for repeat offences I believe) 2) Abandoned cars due to owners absconding without completing loan payments etc and hence, cars are part of court cases 3) used in Criminal offences etc 4) Illegaly modified and hence, impounded.

I think this yard is the one near the border to Sharjah

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe

Sadness, but to see an Enzo in this condition is absolutely horrible. What a waste of a limited edition spectacle!

Re: Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars

I pity the Ferrari catching dust, I also read reports about a Jaguar sports car which is unique sold to cut and sold for spares in Middle east. These cars are either abandoned for various reasons, impounded by cops for speeding, illegal modification etc but why are we discussing it here in "Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Classic & Vintage Cars". We shall have a different section for these "Rust In Pieces... Pics of Disintegrating Modern Marvels", how about it.

Ah you were lucky enough to see an Enzo.

Everytime I visit this thread, I feel I should go back to Dubai, though I was bored seeing cars during my stay there

Do keep updating this thread with more pics, Have you spotted a koenigsegg or a Zonda yet ?

Here is a picture of the Lamborghini Diablo which I saw few months back

Went to Dubai Mall today and saw twin Abu Dhabi registered Aventadors. There was also a Virage Volante and a Rapide on display inside the mall apart from the run of the mill G55s and Patrols outside. :P One of them belonged to Sheikh Majid I think.

I haven't spotted a Koenigsegg or a Zonda though.

A Rarely Spotted Classic

This Thunderbird is one of the few of specimens in Dubai and very rarely spotted.

Did have only phone cam at hand and hence the poor picture quality

Best Regards & Thanks
