"Am posting one of my replies that i posted a few weeks ago in another thread with a few changes here & there as a response to your post, it should bring you up to date with the f10 5 series news"

Here is what is in the pipeline. In a few months time (June 10 in the US and probably sep-oct 10 in India) , BMW are coming out with the brand new 535i, basically with the same 3 litre engine seen in the 530i but tuned to 302..(YES 302!!!!) BHP. No specific news on the 535D ( specs 535d - 265bhp and 560NM torque) as yet but considering mercedes have launched the 350cdi, i would say BMW would launch the 535D sometime after the launch of the petrol 535i...so what you would have is a wide choice for starts....
The Flagship 535i .....in-line 6 with 302hp power under the hood with 300NM torque. 0-100km - 5.7sec with high octane fuel so u can expect it to be a tad slower in India, say around 6seconds.
(2) The current 530i would be launched with a new tag, "528i" with the same 258hp engine doing work
(3) Following that would be the the 523i with the same specs as that of the current 525i
(4) the 530D would also be launched with the same engine...245 hp but with torque increased from the current model's 500NM
(5) Base model would be the 520D with again the same engine as that of the current model.

* EXCEPT THE 520D, which is a 4cyl mill, all others would be 6cyl mills.

As a response to this statment of yours - "They should definitely try to bring the stomper diesel if they want to win the competition against Merc , because they have an awesome package to battle with"

well, the current e60 530d was put up against the latest mercedes benz w212 e 350cdi which has 230hp with 540NM torque & the e60 diesel bmw was found to be quicker than the latest Merc, add to that, the f10 2011 530D is said to b even quicker than the current 530D so you can just imagine what its capabilities could be. Lastly, If BMW do plan to bring out the 535D in response to the current Merc 350cdi ( Bimmer's 265hp ,560NM torque against Merc's 231hp ,540NM torque), the verdict it there to be seen, isnt it ?

2011 BMW M5 |Spy Shots|

Here the most revealing spyphotos yet of the new BMW M5 while testing in Sweden. As you all know by now, the V10 is exchanged in favor of a 4,4 liter twin-turbo V8 connected to a dual-clutch gearbox. The engine is known from the X5M and X6M where it delivers some 555 horsepower, but in the M5 it could be that we will have some more wild horses to handle.

BMW is also told to be working on more lightweight materials for the M5 to make it even more agile.

Except for the quad exhaust pipes I don't see much of a difference between the normal 5 and the M. I thoroughly love the new M.
Just wish that sort of power still came from the mightly naturally aspirated v10.
Free revving enthusiast's are definitely going to miss that engine though.

I don't know if it's just me, but the rear tyres look awfully skinny for such a powerful car. This would be a great sleeper mobile. The usual M5.
And yes, the alloys look good too, but I preferred the old ones.

That is an incredible rendering! One heck of a photoshop job! Actually looks as if it was shot at an auto show! Lots of elements from the M3 which is good. Love the rims on those!

BMW 5 Series M Sport Package

These are leaked images from the 5Post forum of the BMW 5 Series M Sport Package. The shots show the new front bumper, complete with its aggressive new lower air inlets, side skirts and a glossy rear valance.

The kit also throws in a tiny lip spoiler for the rear trunk lid and a more aggressive suspension setup for a slightly more sporty feel. The photos also confirm that the smaller, three-spoke M steering wheel will show up as well as a set of unique seats.

Buyers opting for the sport package will also be able to choose between two new wheel programs that include 18-inch and 19-inch options.

Sweet post dude!

I don't think the new M5 will be very different from this in terms of appearance. Add two more exhaust pipes, larger wheels, a more muscular hood and give the fog-lamps a miss; and voila! You've got the new M5. It'll be interesting to see what it'd pack under the hood.

Getting back to the kit, I'm sure several customers in India would go in for it. I've seen about a dozen 5ers with it already!

Note from Mod : PLease continue the discussion in the BMW 5 series review thread.
