ID:773 I agree with you V-16. It looks like a Citroen Mehari. But it isn't one.

I'll post the answer tonight.

Cheers,

I believe that Marcos did not even exist when ID:774 was built.

I do not know this specific car, but do know that it is more in the league of the 1950s Mille Miglia and Le Mans.

ID:774 is a racing car, not a production-line road car, so does not qualify for this Guess the Car thread.

It is more of a 1950s Le Mans racing car from the times when open cockpit roadsters were permitted.

In this league would also be
the 1952 Aston Martin DB3, 1957 Aston Martin DBR2, 1952 Mercedes Type 300SL(W 194) and the 1953 Jaguar XK120-C (C-Type) which had the two external hinges on the door like in the picture.

External hinges are typical when one must work with fibre-glass or when one skimps on the engineering.

Also in the same league would be,
the 1957 Ferrari Testarossa, 1957 Jaguar D-type, Mercedes 300 SLR,...

In the 24-hour Le Mans race on 11th June 1955, a Mercedes 300 SLR driven by Pierre Levegh, took off at 201 km/h, got airborne and crashed in flames and flying metal into the packed grandstand of 2½ lakh spectators, killing 82 and injuring 100.

Mercedes assumed moral responsibility and withdrew from motor racing for 30 years!

I may have mislead everyone on this car. I have it filed as a Skoda, Monte Carlo, and when I went to pinpoint the exact year, I find this in fact may not be this car at all. Apologies to all, I know not what it is, please carry on with the next car.

ID:775 is a 1952 Pontiac Chieftain Catalina Deluxe.
Lovely car. In the center of the dashboard was the loudspeaker. And in the centre of the loudspeaker was the clock.

The chrome strips on the hood and trunk remind me of a red tin toy car I played with as a kid. Toys were pretty crude those days, but I remember, this toy available in India in the early 1960s, even had simulated whitewall tires.

Here it is.
