Drink, have more than enough alcohol in your blood stream, meet with an accident and get paid for your car's repair by insurance guys -The German Court says this is possible because such a chap involved is a "non compos mentis", meaning "not of sound mind" and was unable to decide what is right and what is not?:

Volkswagen have acquired a majority stake (53.7 %) in MAN the German truck maker, a first, crucial step towards the creation of the third largest European truck giant. VW has an ownership stake in the truck making company, Scania too. VW is very much in the news and is growing bigger every year with its strategy of M & A.
Another interesting revelation here is that MAN was formed 253 years ago as a steel company. I doubt if any other automobile company in the world has such a long history as a corporate entity.

The news is that Porsche is considering reviving its famous 550 Spyder (made between 1953-57) as the 551 Spyder.
This was the car which actor James Dean drove (a brand new one) and crashed in Sept 1955.He died.

(1) A must see video of a Merc S Class being crushed for wrong parking. The tank is piloted by the Mayor of the town Vilinius in Lithuania who sees a Rolls Phantom, a Ferrari and a Merc wrongly parked. The Merc is his target and later on he shakes hands with its owner who is bewildered!

(2) This one is about 2.5 million Honda car recalls in the U.S. (1.5 m) and worldwide (1 m) due to faulty transmission software:

The funniest part of the news item is the notification of a Honda recall website- more and more recalls can be expected!

Lately the problem of children being kept locked up in closed cars, parked in the sunlight has also been taking its toll in the US of A in the sunnier parts of the country viz. California, Florida and Nevada states. This tragedy has taken place 22 times in this part of the world and has claimed 49 young, innocent lives.
Focus sharpens on children left in hot cars - USATODAY.com
The link says it all. We had such a tragedy in Chennai a few months ago, wherein two kids were killed by heatstroke when the father thought that the mother might have taken the kids out of the car and the mother felt the vice versa. They had gone to attend a marriage.
Really very sad that the young ones should die uncared for like this!
Its criminal to leave kids neglected this way to die uncared.
