Re: Porsche Macan - baby SUV coupe'

The problem is not with the sticker price (Alright, maybe a little) but with the exorbitant duties on CBU models. And to make matters worse, Porsche fleeces their customers when the time comes to tick the boxes in the 'options-list'.

Personally, I think it is a more sensible option than the Cayenne considering that it's more compact and still seats 5 (Just about)

it is definitely a more sensible option than the cayenne .. compact suvs, (err sports car as Porsche claims it to be) .. but when world over the pricing of the car has led to auto enthusiasts and Porsche themselves claim that it would be the mass market product from the company .. the same thing costing nearly the same as the Cayenne is a very unfortunate thing ... wish they would have considered the CKD route ... this would sell like hot cakes then !

there is still hope that by the time its June, this thing be priced around 10 L cheaper than the diesel cayenne ... even if its not, what the ZigWheels and other articles said was that Porsche will feature the best options in the base model to justify high pricing .. which is good enough too

air suspension, Porsche navigation, panoramic sunroof, the swivel headlamps, bose audio, make it all standard and put a 80 L price tag, that would be sweet !

Mat Watson reviews the physics bending Macan and comes out all impressed.

The central console does look cluttered with all those buttons.

Re: Porsche Macan - baby SUV coupe'

Last month I saw the Macan up close and personal at the dealership (although I could not take it for a test drive since there were only three on the lot and all of them were sold).
Quite roomy interior and honestly speaking, worth it for the base price of about 51k USD

Autoweek sums it up pretty good -

Quote:
If track performance or pure driving joy is your priority, you might want to spend your 50 large on a Cayman. If you want the most volume or utility with your "Porscheness", you might want a Cayenne, and you could even keep a little cash.
