Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Anyone has a nice .pdf file or page with the F1 calendar for this year? Need to take a print of it for the desk.

Oh and if you have one for the MotoGP calendar too, post it up. Thanks!

Thanks but I'd already checked those. Not fancy enough to print and put up on the desk.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Just heard from a friend who works in Fox Sports that they will use the Sky feed for all races. Read FP, Q and Race.

Martin Brundle and team! Just wow! I had to be put up with the grainy display with awesome commentary till now in Sky, not any more.

Wonder how they are going to integrate those commercial breaks though, Sky doesn't have any. Heard HD will have lesser breaks compared to the regular one.

Sorry I don't understand at all..
Are you talking about sky from England ? If so, why channel is going to be using that feed? I too had resorted to watching sky on stream sites simply for Martin bundles brilliant commentary.

It would appear you heard right as Martin Brundle has just tweeted:

He doesn't mention anything about FP1,2 and 3 sessions though.

Woooohoooo. Have they finally changed the commentators at ESPN for the races? Good to see Steve Slater finally out. I couldn't listen to his one-sided commentary anymore. And that legendary "and the five red lights illuminate"..

I saw the Australian FP 1, 2, 3 in ESPN and the feed was Sky. Martin was present during FP 1, but usually he comes in only during the Q and race. It is David Croft, Ant Davidson, K Chandhok who covers FP for Sky.

Watching the qualy session now listening to Martin Brundle....oh joy of joys!
I wonder if skys preshow program will also be broadcast, I would love to see it but I doubt seriously though as its an extra hours or so worth of programming and would probably require something important to be cut in espns schedule.

Group Lotus to be wound up.

Quote:
This process would see Group Lotus, which consists of Lotus Cars, Lotus Motorsport and Lotus Engineering, liquidated. The bosses of the Lotus F1 team are keen to stress that the changes do not involve or affect them at all. Permissions for the use of the Lotus name on the current F1 car, however, comes from a deal with Group Lotus PLC.

I guess the link was taken off, now here is the latest on it.

according to a statement issued by Group Lotus this afternoon, earlier this year the company was in a contractual dispute which was subsequently resolved amicably

I would to like to comment on this.
Group Lotus best to my knowledge has nothing to do with the F1 team we know as Lotus. The F1 team isn't owned nor sponsored by Group Lotus, The only deal between them is the name. So it should have 0 effect on the Lotus F1 team.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

I was wondering how McLaren is so far back after that brilliant lap-time produced by Jenson at Jerez during the first test. That lap was very impressive given it was on hard tyres and the circuit was green. Massa rated it as incredible!

Was searching around to find the answers and this is baffling if true. It seems McLaren bolted on a new piece of suspension the wrong way round by mistake when Button set the time. And it had to be immediately removed because it made the car sit too low on the road.

http://adamcooperf1.com/2013/03/16/h...in-jerez-test/

Waiting to see whether McLaren will bring the MP4-27 out of retirement or persist with the new car given the changes in 2014.

Lewis Hamilton hits back at critics who doubted logic of his Mercedes switch - http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1/...ercedes-switch

Quote:
"It's nice to prove people wrong," Hamilton was quoted as saying by The Daily Telegraph.

"It has been everyone, particularly all the ex-drivers commenting that it was the worst decision ever. They said: 'He's going to finish nowhere, they're going to be nowhere.' And then they contradicted themselves, going the other way.

"They don't know what they're talking about. They're either this way or that, when the truth is the bit in the middle."
