Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Pirelli spends more time in defending itself these days.

http://www.planetf1.com/driver/18227...ttel-criticism

It has sure become the most 'love to hate' factor in F1. Are they being railroaded these days ?? ( and letting Michelin come back quietly ?).

I just hope the new engines next year spice up things and Pirelli (or Michelin?) produce fairly stable tyres. Let the horsepower and aero battle begin and please driver skills too .

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

The Tribunal hearing on Mercedes test is set for June 20th.

Considering Ross is at helm, I wondering what loophole have they found this time around. These guys are no fools to attempt something so brave(stupid?) without reason.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Vettel and RBR have agreed to extend Vettel's contract till the end of the 2015 season. That should ideally be the end of Vettel-to-Ferrari-in-2014 rumours.

It would be interesting to know the details of Alonso's deal with Ferrari. Is it till the end of 2016 season, or is it till the end of 2015 season with an option to extend it by an year for 2016?

I suspect it will come down to Ferraris start in the new regulations. It's very likely he won't resign/extend with Ferrari if it turns out that the team has lagged behind too much in the development race for the new engines.
Also keep in mind Alonsos Psyche, He joined Ferrari to win World Championships after the Macca fiasco. They have failed to deliver on that promise so far.
I for one would love to see Alonso paired with an equally skilled team mate regardless of what colours he wears, like Vettel or Hamilton. He won't have any of that though unfortunately : P.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Rumours that James Allison is headed to Honda to design a test car for them as a platform for the new 2015 engines..
They are free to test as much as they want in 2014!

That is very interesting! If this is true, Honda will pretty much have the best possible opportunity to develop the turbo engines!
That said, I find this quite unlikely as Honda is coming in just as a engine supplier and building a whole car is a massively expensive procedure. I do not think they would go through so much trouble and more importantly cash in this way.

Nothing is absolute in this universe. Michelin has been very quiet for some time now. Bridgestone and Hankook have denied clearly.
Why not have different tyre companies take turns and be the sole franchisee for periods of lets say 3 years or so. Makes the season interesting. Wouldn't it?

We can always have fun in these forums, Merc works well with Mich and not with BS and nothing works with Pirelli blah blah

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Pirelli have announced the tire choices for the next 3 races.
Medium and Hard for Hungary is a surprise, how can it be the same as Silverstone!!
Should have stuck to Soft and Medium.

Get ready for a snooze fest. Feel they have caved to all the negative press.
