Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Pirelli to bring softer tire compounds to Hungary:

Pirelli will take softer tyres to Hungarian Grand Prix

Pirelli are now bringing the Soft and the Medium to the Hungaroring, compared to the medium and hard as was communicated by them earlier. I think this is a very welcome change, as I found that the hard and medium combo was a bit too conservative from Pirelli for what is one of the slowest tracks on the calendar.

Pat Symonds to join Williams as technical chief/

Pat leaves Marussia for Williams. Coughlan is out. I hope this would help in turning around their fortunes.

This will make 2014 much more interesting for Williams provided they have the money. Not to mention the second half of this year as well.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Just read Kimi's interview in July's F1 Racing issue. It is the most informative and honest driver interview i've ever read. Not to be missed!

P.S. The 2014 drive is still undecided.

Horner won't rule out Alonso move.

Red Bull team boss Christian Horner stopped short of denying an interest in Fernando Alonso as Mark Webber's replacement for next season.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

No Indian GP in 2014 ??
High Taxation and 'Political' Reasons cited by Bernie to axe our dose of F1.
It took Bernie all of 3 years to get over the euphoria of Indian F1 GP.
The contract with Jaypee runs till the year 2015, yet I am sure a loophole or two will be available for Bernie to take advantage of, if he so desires.
Contracts, these days, seem to be written on water.

Now Bernie wants to scrap the Indian GP, since he seems to be finding greener pastures in Austria, Russia, etc.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Horner is playing along to stir Ferrari. I am sure Alonso would have inquired about the vacant seat at RBR but no way Vettel will want the Spaniard there. He already spoke of his preference for Kimi.

And it will be a bloody blow for Ferrari to lose Alonso. If there needs to be some personnel change at Ferrari, it needs to be Domenicali. I really cant stand his smile anymore.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

James Allison will start work with Ferrari on 1st September.

And here is Luca making his displeasure with the current state of the team and Alonso very public. Montezemolo: “This Ferrari doesn’t sit well with me”

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Boy, Webber's imminent retirement from F1 has really pushed the silly season into overdrive! Kimi to Ferrari might be pure speculation. He is not too keen on doing sponsor/PR days and Lotus have been able to accommodate that. So a Ferrari return looks unlikely.

As for Alonso to Redbull, Allison's recruitment might give Alonso the confidence to stay on for 2014 and beyond as the rule changes will mean that Ferrari has an opportunity to reverse its fortunes. No driver worth his salt would throw in the towel without winning a championship with Ferrari. And Alonso has reiterated that more than once. What they need however, is to show Massa the door, something they should have done 2 seasons ago.

Could be Montezemolo keeping Alonso in check?

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Basically Ferrari has ONE VACANT SEAT after Massa is shown the door And RedBull has ONE VACANT SEAT after Webber's exit. Interesting
