That's exactly what I'm hoping for.
It's one thing to keep improving the front runner to remain there, or trying to wring the neck of an average performing car to get it up front.
Entirely different when you're more or less reinventing the wheel.
Having said that, there's a Newey thrown into the mix which may cause a definite tilt.

I just hope we can get past another era of watching "....but who will be second?? "

I really do not care, just give me two prancing horses on the podium first and preferably second. The Iceman + the volatile genius make a fantastic pair.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Fire and Ice is what i would call the New pairing. Hope this pairing doesnt go the way it did with Alonso and Hamilton. Feeling really sad for Massa, he has always played the second fiddle. He was so close to get the Drivers Championship when Hamilton got ahead. I hope he gets a seat in a competetive team and regains his form.

But in the end i would want to see 2 scarlets finish together, its been so long now.

So your wish finally came true today Anachronix !!

The soothsayers are yelling from the roofs now :

It's got an interesting bit of Alonso coming back to McL. I would welcome that with glee . I want him to come back to McLaren when Honda is back. Jense can retire and re-appear with DC on the commentary box.

Wishful thinking, no ?

Two World champions in one team & one of them being Alonso, Who hasn't really shown that he has learned to deal better with a competitive teammate since the fiery 2007 season with Hamilton, Oh this coupled with the big regulation changes should make 2014 a very interesting season : D...

Yay, great news ! Its Ferrari for me in 2014. Although, its too early to predict, I want this man and Ferrari to win. RBR's will surely have a tough task.
Also interesting will be the McLaren- Honda combi.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

While I am very happy for Kimi, Alonso is known to throw tantrums and that will not go very well with Kimi; who we have seen is more like a 'leave me, i know what I am doing'.

I hope Ferrari don't face the same issue Mclaren faced with Hamilton and Alonso.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

I am excited about 2014. Seeing the two of them together alone would make a great 2014. Let's just hope Ferrari have a competitive car.

I hope Hulk get's the Lotus seat now. He totally deserves it.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Iceman paring with fire, one of the best thing any F1 enthusiast would like to hear. 2014 is going to be a spectacular viewing .
It appears the decision has been driven by a lack of constructor championship for last five years. Massa's contribution to the constructors alongside Allonso was in and around 30% consistently for last three years and 2013 is no different for Massa scoring 32%.
We'll need to wait and watch until mid 2014 to see if Ferrari has made the right decision? Can call them "Geni" (read geniuses) for having two of the best four driver out now on the same team, both of them are really good in squeezing every last drop of performance from a car. Else need to mention them as "Scemi" (read as idiots) on the same version all have heard of Montzemolo's comment that he don't wish to have two roosters in a hen house.

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Massa's last win was in 2008. That is too long and a bit more.
It made sense to get Kimi when he was hungry. A 2yr contract is ideal. The Hulk is young and has a lot of time.

This is going to be a long long wait till March 16th 2014!

I guess there is going to be no taming what so ever! These guys are going to want to prove that they are each the best.! Get ready for some wheel to wheel action between the two prancing horses! I'm tingling all over just thinking about March 16 th next year!

Re: The 2013 Formula One Season

Haha, this was totally unexpected dream that came true. I cant wait for 2014, its going to be fireworks everywhere on/off track with the SF team. It will be an exciting 2014 season, I also hope they have a good car that can let the two drivers fight.

Good luck with your wishful thinking dude

Mclaren needs a better driver for sure, I hope they get someone more aggressive and bring home more points. Jenson looks too weak to lead a team like Mclaren and Checo has been a disaster so far. Losing Hamilton was a big mistake by MW & Co.
