@Pavan..no controversies in this forum as well with you starting this thread!!

This season has been fabulous as far as the quality of racing is concerned as well as the intensity on the track. Don't know about the race being free of external incidents with the condition in Bahrain being quite volatile as of now.

Pirelli has revised its tyre allocation for this race.

It is Medium and Hard now. The previous allocation was Soft and Hard. Hope the race is exciting.

Pirelli decided to play safe in Baharin, considering it is end of April and the ambient track temperatures would be around 45 degrees and above during the race. They would also have been alarmed by the number of laps that these tyres lasted in Shanghai. They were an embarrassment for them.

Also for starters Webber and Gutierrez have 3 and 5 place grid penalties after their respective incidents in Shanghai.

I can hardly wait. I have a feeling that the Burro may be tough to beat.

Re: 2013 F1 - Bahrain Grand Prix

I sincerely hoped I'd be able to make it to this event LIVE this year. Had to get dunked. But, just to be sure I have my tickets booked for the one in Houston later this year.

But, Bahrain would have been fun. My family lives there and the excitement when it comes to motorsport is almost like the DSF in Dubai this time of the year. It was only last year that things took a turn when the political unrest disturbed the F1 schedules.

Yes, the temperature is high and there is also the fine sand from the desert to be afraid of.

But all the tyres are softer this season. The new Hard is close to last years' Medium.

Double DRS for Sakhir and spaced apart. Lets see how it goes.

Hoping for a good race with those Medium and Hard compounds. Hated the tire saving exercise in last race.

Re: 2013 F1 - Bahrain Grand Prix

The track-layout shown by the above pic is old one. The current layout is bit different. The old layout having too many turns and so they chopped of some of the turns in middle sector and straightened out.

Good that they have changed the tires or else softs would have been joke on this track. Though races are getting interesting, its shame when you listen to likes of JB asking on radio asking "should I attack him or let him go and conserve tyres".

Hoping for:
KIMI,ALONSO,VETTEL

Re: 2013 F1 - Bahrain Grand Prix

I have absolutely no inkling of what is going to happen, except for the hope that Perez will PLEASE PLEASE buy some talent!

Or else, like it was discussed in the previous race thread, Hulk to the Mclaren!

I'm hoping for a Mercedes podium, again.

PS: Thanks for resuming normal transmission Pavan.
PPS: PLease restore our Mclarens too, to 2012 vintage....

Do not worry mate, looks like they are bringing lots of updates for Spain(not for Bahrain). Actually looks like complete new shell FW, RW, sidepods, deflectors, exhaust, floor, engine cover etc etc.

As said in my earlier post, this is how new circuit layout is:

Re: 2013 F1 - Bahrain Grand Prix

My predictions would be Alonso, Vettel and Kimi on the podium.
Kimi has the record of being on the podium 5 times in Baharain though Alonso has the record for maximum wins -3.

Hamilton and Mercedes will continue to be in the points till about Barcelona where McLaren come in with modifications to their MP4-28.

Also why do I think Webber would be high up in the points too. No podium for him as he already has a 3 place grid penalty.
