The car handled brilliantly over bad roads , soaks up the bumps pretty darn well .. Mom even said it glides over the potholes with such ease .. This coming from my mom certainly means quite a lot .. However , thats not just it .. Over a few potholes got that "khatak" sound that a few owners are complaining about .. I got this sound atleast 5-6 times .. At a particular instant dad did ask if the sound was due to the mud flap hitting the ground thus making the "khatak" sound .. Baleno owners whats ur take on this ??

REPLY: I also faced this problem and finally got it fixed by puting liquid rubber on the sockers on both side and this problem disappeaed after that. I hope in your case also, this will help.

hope ur doing good and u didnt get hurt or something.. Anyway.. drive safe.. and be careful as u seem to going thru a bad patch..
I too recently had my rear tyre blow out while I was doing 110+ on my bike.. luckily I controlled it and was no vehicle behind or else I would've been history.
Cant wait to see u guys at the speed run.

Finally got all the parts for the repairs .. Engine mods too have begun .. More on the transformation a little later .. For now just cant wait to get the car back ..

PS : Burjis , godfather , zahed , psycho and myself met up at the garage today .. Godfather got himself a present and was grinning from one end to the other .. Goddy , how about telling everyone about it ???

He He .... Some one this forum has already forwarded the thread "Spares cost : Aveo/Baleno/Fiesta/NHC" to JagdishKhattar lets he, if he really serious about selling baleno and keeping it in market for atleast 5 years he has to make more of the SGP into MGP.

They are next to impossible to find , even in all the showrooms .. Even parts like the bonnet , bumper , radiator and condensor .. After hunting the city somehow managed to trace what i wanted , now need to go get them soon ..

Baleno spares not available in Maruti Showroom , this is outrageous. Did the maruti guys say that cannot get it for you at all, or they wanted you to wait for a long time.

Baleno spares not available in Maruti Showroom , this is outrageous. Did the maruti guys say that cannot get it for you at all, or they wanted you to wait for a long time.

Venkat , its not that easy to convert all the SGP parts to MGP parts just like that .. Rest assured that the quality will come down .. Anyday would u prefer quality stuff or not ??


Also certain parts like the condensor, etc were low on stock and had to be shipped from delhi .. For that they needed a weeks time , but as i was in a hurry to get the car ready .. However i managed to source all the parts from R.N.S.Motors within a day itself ..

All said and done my car is back on the roads and having a ball driving it .. A detailed report of all the mods coming up soon ..

OK got myself a custom "Chrome Plated 4x1 headers which could have also gone on mcl's car"... but i reached there first and bought it...You guys should have seen the look on MCL's face when i showed him the Headers.. thanks Keshav... the car sounds and drives better now... Much better than u know

Dont worry , nothing burning around here ... Got myself a pair of perfect race spec headers too .. Moreover now the two silver baleno's sound like rally cars now after removing the straight pipe and doing some additional mods ..

The other baleno is mohnish's .. His ID is memo something .. Both his baleno and my baleno are going to the same spec keeping in mind even the tiniest of the details .. Both are going to be the twin balenos from Team Torque ..

The car had been for service on monday and back in my hands all clean and gleaming .. And to top it all the 2nd free service bill came to only INR 150/- .. Venkat , are u reading this ???

The headers flange seem to have a slight leakage in them .. Going over to psycho's to get it rectified today ..

Mcl, how much was your bill for the collision damage repair? And did insurance cover it all? My getz has just had a similar "front meets rear" collision, there was a pile-up of cars on the highway and the Getz hit a Qualis, don't know the speeds as my driver was at the wheel. The left front was pretty badly crumpled but we could drive the car to the Hyundai garage 30 km away. Hyundai has handed me a bill for 90,000/-

The entire damages worked out to around 20k which includes replacing of front bumper , bonnet , radiator and painting to go with it as well .. Only thing left over is the purchase of the AC condensor which will be done by the beginning of next month .. So i guess it will amount to around 28k .. No , i havent claimed insurance , paid for everything from my own pocket ..

Hey mclaren, why not insurance ? I mean 28K is quite some money. Also it is the 1st year of purchase and thus depreciation would be nil or close to nil for most parts. And even if you are worried about loosing the NCB next year, it would be like 3K or so (that's the NCB I got on my Lxi while renewing for 2nd year). So, don't understand why you did not go the insurance route.
