Update:
Odo reading 21900km

The car has become my favourite, along with the safari. I have a brand new celerio in the garage, and I have also booked a cute little Renault Kwid. :D

Delivery due last week of this month.

You sure drive your cars, and drive them a lot.

Has the FE dropped so far?

We as a family have an usage of 200 km per day. Since we have 2 more cars(3more by the end of this month :) ) and the CBR250R, the load gets shared.

By the way, I just came from a drive to a wedding in a different district.
Stats:
Total Distance: 412.2 km
Travel Time: 5 hours 15 minutes
Average speed: 79 kmph
But to be noted is that the car was driven consistently at 115-130kmph for 75% of the trip. The rest 25% was into a crowded town and through very bad sections of roads where I could not drive beyond 40kmph.

Trip Fuel efficiency avg. : 23.2 kmpl :D

Has the fuel efficiency gone down? NO, not even a bit!

The healthy range for a full tank diesel.

Hi Prasanna, try to calculate by tankful method. It's a better and reliable indicator of FE. These MID are notorious for their splayed values. I am sure the actual figures will be in the 22 - 22.5 Kmpl range.

I always check the FE by tankful method only. And surprisingly the MID is just 0.2-0.5kmpl ahead of the actual mileage. I have done around 40 tankfuls so far. There hasnt been variation more than 0.5kmpl from MID and actual FE figures.

29/08/16 Update:

Crossed 23,000 km. I have been using my new Celerio petrol in the past week. Hence Ciaz did not see much km.

Signing of the month of August 2016 with 23,257 km on the odo. And my Kwid 1.0 delivery is due this week. :D

14/9/16 update:

24,000 km completed. Not a single niggle, I am thoroughly satisfied with the Ciaz. I will highly recommend the car to anyone who is in need of a comfortable, niggle-free, 12 lakh C2 sedan:)

October 2nd update:

September 2016 was a lazy month for the Ciaz as it clocked just 1200 km, as new entrant Kwid took half of it's load.

As of now, ciaz crossed 25000 km milestone as I had to do a Trichy to Chennai round trip which is around 750 km. Average speed was 125 kmph with an astounding mileage of 20.3 kmpl.

Going to 3rd service tomorrow.

25000 km service done!

Bill: 3000/-

Got interiors cleaned, wheel alignment and balancing done. The cabin light works fine individually, but doesn't work at lit up when door is open setting. SA said part has to be ordered and will cost 6k. Warranty will take care of it though.

The next owner of my car is going to be double happy to see all service bills from the first day of the ownership. :)

Ayudha pooja update:

I had another Chennai trip, this time 694 km on the odo. We were 5 adults, 1 kid + luggage. I was cruising at highway speeds as the NH 45 was totally free of traffic, Chennai was hectic as always. The Ciaz still delivered 18.4 kmpl. Excellent fuel efficiency given how fast and how loaded we were driving it.

Today being ayudha pooja, all my cars and cbr were pampered with a nice wash and pooja. :)

Hi Prasanna,
Got a new Ciaz ZDI variant, had a few queries.
There is a mild thud from the rear shock absorbers while going over the craters created after the monsoons. Is that normal ?
I cant hear any sound from the rear speakers. Is there any setting issues?
This car has a push start button ? What happens if the battery of the remote goes bad?
Any alternate means to start the car?
Even after pairing my windows phone, i had difficulty accessing the contacts list, any tips that would help.
The beige colour seat covers are dust magnets? Did you put on any additional cover?

5 adults and a kid. Didn't the cabin feel cramped? Also, how was the pick up with that kind of load and luggage? Also, how was braking? Any instances of the car bottoming out? Was the AC effective?

Everytime I read your updates, I m tempted to buy a Ciaz diesel. Great updates and maintenance. :thumbs up
