Hi SDee,
Mine is a non SHVS model. :)

Signing off 2018 with 69,500 km on the odo.
January first week awaits the 70k km service.
Ciaz have completed 22000 km in 2018. Blame the two months that the ciaz was totally idle.

Happy and prosperous New Year 2019 to everyone! :)

The Ciaz has achieved the 70,000 km milestone!

:D

I can't express how satisfied and happy I am with the decision I made a little over 3 years ago. This car perfectly suits me, even over the Dicor and the current Safari Storme in my garage.

Not even a single breakdown, not even a minor electrical failure, still on stock battery, no niggles whatsoever, it does serious speeds and can be fun if you know how to work that laggy yet lovely 1.3 mill.

Usually I get the inclination to replace the cars either on completion of 3 years of ownership or after completing 50k km. But somehow I used my Dicor till 1.4 lakh km for 6 years. And I have a feeling I will be using the ciaz till 2 lakh km mark comfortably.

The car still feels the same as the day I drove it home on July 31st, 2015! (Except for the rattle in the driver side door on bad roads though lol)

Getting it serviced tomorrow, and let's see if they take care of the complaint. Again, I know there are a few bhpians who bought the ciaz after reading my ownership, around 5 of my friends, my neighbor have all bought it because of my influence. I am very glad that I made you choose a very good, reliable car. :)

Wow. That is an excellent update. I am bordering 67k kms now. But in my case, I picked up an used piece which had done 50k kms. And luckily no rattles as well.

One quick question. At what seat height do you maintain the driver's seat? From past few days, I am getting knee or ankle pain based on seat height at lowest and highest position respectively. I am 6.1.

I set it at the lowest height setting, and have the seat set back to 80% of the full range. Setting it further back isn't as comfortable nor having it any higher is.

I haven't had any pain so far, and I am almost the same height as you are. The seat back is also not leaned too much and isn't too upright either. It works perfect for me. The side bolstering also gives proper support to the back.

Congratulations! 70,000 kms in 3 years is some driving. Glad to see the Ciaz has been able to weather this without complaint.

Maruti's 2018 Ciaz is supposed to be even better built and with several new features (and new engines).

Thanks Navin!

70,000 km service completed. Oil replacement, filter replacement, ac filter replacement, disc pad cleaning and general service done.

The only complaint was the RHS front door rattling over bad roads. That complaint has been rectified totally :) Very happy with ABT Maruti SVC.

This 70,000 km service has been the cheapest of all services on the ciaz. Totalling 5800 INR. That's quite low for the segment. For reference, my Kwid 1.0's 25000 km service costed me 5800 INR.

The continental CC5 is pretty durable. Almost 30k run but the tyre still looks fresh.

Ciaz all set to hit another 10k km before the next visit to SVC!

Another fancy odo update: :D

70 70 7 km

Thank you @PrasannaDhana for sharing your experiences with the Ciaz here. I'm booking one but was a bit concerned about rattles in the long run. Your thread reassures that rattles will not be much of a concern in the Ciaz.

Well, ciaz is definitely prone to rattles when compared to the competitors.

By rattles, I don't mean the body panels rattling, but the loose stuff like spare change, water bottles and other stuff kept in the car that vibrates and gives out sound.

I don't keep any loose stuff (not even empty water bottles) and hence don't hear any rattling sounds. Rattles from dash, door panels etc are inexistent till 67k km in mine, only the RHS door had rattles and it was rectified in the 70k service.
And to be noted is, I drive in some of the worst rural roads in our district.

One of my friends drives a 2016 ciaz, done 80k km, driven on Chennai roads and there are absolutely no rattles whatsoever.

Odo update : 71,000 km :D

Update:

Odo: 72000 km :D

January 2019 has been pretty active for the ciaz. 2600 km inspite of RC390 being used for gym runs and Storme being used at times.

February is also going to be a busy month for the ciaz. :)

An update after 6 months:

Yesterday was the 4th anniversary of the Ciaz. 4 years, 92k km and the car still looks and feels new!!

Odo : 92140 km

Important events: none except 2 services at 80k and 90k km. Will upload service bills later. Stock battery went kaput at 77k km. Replaced with exide.

I have changed homes and ciaz & RC 390 are the only machines I am using right now. The garage is too tight for the storme.

Usage has been pretty high since February. 20140 km in 6 months.

May and July the highest @ 3900 km each month. The other months I clock between 3200-3500km a month. I had done one day Trichy - Chennai official round trips(700km) 4 times in last month and didn't even feel tired. I guess I am totally accustomed to Ciaz now. Also test drove Ciaz 1.5 diesel, will post my observations on the specific thread.

Good running in the Ciaz and a well maintained and frequently updated thread. Glad to see there are still no rattles for a light build car.

My brezza had lot of rattles (only run 10k kms so far) and all of them disappeared when I took my stuff out before giving for service. Realized its not the car but the umpteen myriad stuff that I keep in the car which gives out the sound.

A question on the suspension. Does it bottom out easily since the suspension setup is soft. Also how does the handling feel above 120kmph on the highways. Reason for asking is that I'm considering a sedan as well, and the Ciaz is too tempting with its 1.5DDIS.
