riddle for maruti!!

some can term it as first issue in a brand new car!! OMG!! and all. reason why am kewl ill let you know soon..

You know the internal vanity lights right, well this one will come ON for a few secs when put in auto mode (door open, key remove etc)

once in a while only: let it be while engine running, ignition turning off, from engine run to stop (am not referring to the key being removed and light ON phenomenon here coz that is the way it is when on auto mode), sometimes even while flashing the high beam

so who all have already broke their heads coz of this? and what can be causing this?

ps: i know the reason and have to see how to resolve it later.

hmm no replies yet eh!!

ok its coz of STATIC ELECTRICITY which we had discussed on some other thread!!!

Why i say so, well this happened on the first day, when i flashed the light. Then didn notice except next day when i reached office and was turning ignition off, light should come ON when key is removed and not when turning OFF. Light blinked and with the dimmer config, will stay on for few sec and then switch off and again switch ON when i remove the key.

Completely baffled by then and made a note for First service.

Yday evening stuck in traffic i touched the key and presto light flashed, could repeat again and again, then i thoght some issue with the key switch.

Then i tried touching the key ring (metal one) and presto there it comes on, and then i suddenly remembered the usual arc of lightning when i touch the door while getting out of the car EUREKA!!

If i discharge my body static and touch no problem with light, otherwise light will come ON.

So conclusion, static and i guess along with the immobilizer sensor in the key circuit OR the auto cabin light sensor is causing the phenomenon.

How to solve this, am sure ill have fun time explaining this to Maruti A.S.S lol

Cheers
Jaggu

ps: Any other Vdi owners facing this problem?

I really cant be ESD. the current is way too small to light up a bulb. it runs in thousands of volts but the current is not enough to drive. theres something else in the starter circuitry along with the touch thats causing this.

Have you discharged yourself completely and tried?

LMFAO i DIDNT mean to say ESD (electrostatic discharge) from my body lit the bulb!! rather it confuses the sensor to give the wrong signal to light the bulb.

and yes i did discharge myself of "ESD" and tried and no issues then

@RTech.. not me rather the bangalore climate along with wider tyre i suspect

oops all my theories went down the drain...

ESD is not the reason (rather partly the reason maybe if at all), remember phenomenon not happening when i touch the key after i discharge the ESD, i am wrong. its happening in spite of this, shake the key and light will switch ON.

I took a wooden pencil and moved the key and presto the lights switch ON!!

So its after all a faulty switch or loose wiring inside, point added to I service list and to maruti feedback form. And cabin light switch on OFF position.

a) car is dirty
