This is the MASS price at Delhi , so yes its spot on . Cheaper options can be found at Palika , will cost 7-9k for the windshield

Thanks so much, the MASS pricing is pretty steep 🙂 will have a look at the Palika option, anyone specific there you would recommend?

My GV also has crack line for last 7 years. It is on the lower side of wind screen running from left to right and hence does not impair visibility. I was also thinking of changing it, did not change it considering cost. Have no problem. The crack line length has increased over time, but MASS guy says it is not going to explode or burst suddenly and hence safe to drive

Not sure if I am taking a big risk or not.

Many thanks GRV, 7 years! So I shouldn’t be too worried about it lasting the drive to Delhi :) but one should get it changed IMO, as it could get nasty if it comes apart at an inappropriate time

Hi Vigsom / @Sridhar -V

Where have to sourced this bush from ?
Do I have to buy either one of the part numbers (i.e. either xxxx-024 or xxx-005) or 2 pieces xxxx-024 and 2 pieces xxxx-005 ?

I sourced the part indirectly from Mumbai.

A set(2 nos.) of the part no 0024 is all you need. The RBI packing label shows the part as 0024/ 005.

The Honda OE part shown on boodmo is a little expensive at approx. 1400 bucks.

Me suspects that this is the Honda Civic lower arm bush. But I am not 100% sure.

Where have to sourced this bush from ? I have to change the bushes and MASS is asying complete lower arm will have to be replaced. Hence want to buy these bushes and get it changed from an independent Garage in NCR. I checked these parts no on Boodomo. The first number i.e. 024 throws a few options and one of them is RBI. The second number throws vendor Honda/acura as OEM part..

Do I have to buy either one of the part numbers (i.e. either xxxx-024 or xxx-005) or 2 pieces xxxx-024 and 2 pieces xxxx-005 ? Please clarify

Thanks

I got my bushes from my local parts shop. It was sourced from Mumbai.
Ask for Grand Vitara Type2 (new model) Front "kainchi" bush.
Last week i sourced a set for a friend. Total 4 bushes that fit in the LH & RH arms. Cost was Rs. 4000.
Re part nos. go with what Vigsom is suggesting.

Hi
Need to understand criteria to change front struts. They cost around 30,000 (19,000 for two struts, 8,000 for 4 mounting bush and say 3,000 labor cost). A big hit on pocket

Hence my question : when should I replace the struts ? what are symptoms that indicate a need for replacement?

and if these symptoms are present, is replacement is necessary ? cann' I get them repaired ?

Will really appreciate your views
regards

Hi Folks,

Where in Mumbai can i source KYB or equivalent non-OEM struts and mounts for my GV (2010, 2.4, MT) ?

Thanks!

It is a bit difficult to asses residual life of the struts. The common test is the bounce test. The next thing is to look for signs of oil leakage. Also measure your ride height. Please see my previous posts on thewhiteknight's OME install. Front springs generally loose their strength much before the struts give up. And a clanging noise from the strut top, when going over bumps, is an indication of a worn Coil Spring Rubber Seat.
When changing the front struts do also change the springs and the Coil Rubber Seat and Strut Bearings. Then you will not have to bother for the next 80K kms.

My local spares chap procured KYBs from Mumbai for 18,000 a pair. It is readily available.

Thanks! It should be around 10K for the front pair. This is the best price i was quoted in Delhi at Palika Bhawan market a few months back.

I recently got my windshield changed with Windshield experts and it costed me just 3100, compulsory excess (under insurance). The total claim is for about 24500, wherein the windshield itself is for about 18000. Its SPLINTEX brand supposedly from Belgium.
Also upgraded the battery from 45AH to 65 AH with an Amaron GO. Costed me 5200 with exchange.

Hi i need help on the clutch.I have changed the clutch on my GV. However the trouble is: The point at which clutch starts to engage and the point at which it is fully engaged are very close, it happens in a very small range of pedal travel(so i have to do it carefully not to stop the engine). In fact i feel its the same as the old clutch and no improvement in bringing the car in motion from stall.
MASS says its hydraulic clutch so there is no room for any adjustment. Is this same for other GVs ? Anything else that can remedy this, please advise.

Any person who has tried to fix cruise control in the GV? Can it be retrofitted as plug and play?

Read an DIY account on done Australian GV forum. It was virtually plug and play AFAIK

Yes, I also read that and hence the question. Issue is did the GV that came to India had that provision? I think the ECU needs to have been programmed for it. As I also read that the GV had an auto headlight leveller that can be activated by a simple DIY, but I failed to find the said plug under the dash.

Guys anyone using BOSCH Irridium plugs? What is the code for the same? On Amazon it says BOSCH 9603 will fit but it has a gap of 0.6mm and will fit the 2.7 V6 GV. No other engine option is available so cannot check.

Since Indian GV was CBU import - as was Australian - this should be present. I do not thing ECM needs programming and the open inputs once activated would trigger appropriate instruction set in ECM.

This is AFAIK. I could be totally wrong you need to trawl the web a bit more. I gave up on this as I felt that cruise control was not VFM.

Three of my former cars while I was in US had cruise control. I never used them because it used to get too boring to drive. Please don't bother with CC.
